Re: Recommending Next Iteration Is Like the EA Big Arcade Games

@PalomaMarvel24 Sadly it now cost so much money to develop a game I don't think a golf game will be made by EA unless they can project 1,000,000 sale's. IMHO

@SlimDown57I agree, I believe we've seen the last golf game by EA. EA will probably keep their exclusive licenses for Augusta and the Majors as long as possible but for them, golf sales are just crumbs they will gladly leave for 2K. The CEO was talking to focus on massive online communities, that's not golf. 1 million sales is probably far from being enough.

@SlimDown57I totally agree with sales of 1,000,000 units to make a game. Another simulation based golf game like the current one would go nowhere since it would not attract casuals and beginners; that would fail to make the sales.

The market is one half and attracting casuals to play is the other. Mario golf is an example of a game that sold well despite not having a golf market. Even though snowboard cross has a small market, SSX Tricky was a huge hit and that game was one of my all time favorites. Both games are Arcade versions.Though the NBA has a huge market, NBA Live 19 turned away the casuals due to the artificial difficulty in career mode.

Marisol is an SSX Tricky character with the catchphrase “I’m Cool, I’m Hot, I’m #1”. If a game, including an over the top arcade golf one, can make a casual empowered like Marisol, they are more likely to purchase, play and recommend the game.
