Re: Settings not saving upon log on

Thank you for the response.  I tried all of the suggested and still get the same behavior on every session:

1. Accept User Agreement

2. privacy and cookie policy

3. accessibility settings

4. Edit golfer (Y to save and exit)

5. Welcome sequence (5 screens)

6. Gameplay settings screen

7. Controller recommendation disclaimer

8. main menu (prompts menu layout overlay tips šŸ€)

9. In game repeats controls tips as well

i have tried again launching from Steam and EA app and get same behavior.  Also, the game does not get window focus on launch either and I always need to toggle from steam or EA app to get to the game.

thanks,

@thewick78 Do you have any security running that might be preventing changes to PGA files?
  • No security beyond Windows 11 native and I have not configured any folder level security for my Steam repository.

Hi @thewick78 Thanks for the update, Could we try to temporarily disable UAC controls and then test if this continues?

  • I checked UAC settings and it is already disabled.  One other note I will add is that I was originally getting system kernel power critical crashes due to the default resolution setting and I was able to resolve that by changing to 1080p.  I’m not sure if that could have caused something with the crash earlier that is now causing this behavior?

Hey @thewick78 apologies for the delay, Were you getting a specific error with that crash? Also, would it be possible to get a DxDiag?

  • I've attached the DxDiag.txt output as you've requested and also the System Critical Error log that was occurring and forcing critical system shutdown/restart when the graphics were defaulting to higher than 1080p settings.

HI @thewick78 Can we try two specific steps and check if this continues?

    1. Head to https://www.ea.com/ and sign in with your account. Once signed in if you get a prompt to accept terms and agreements? (if so accept when your ready, then launch PGA Tour)

    2. reset your EA account password (you can do so from the sign-in screen on ea.com or on help.ea.com), then Launch PGA Tour and check if this continues.

  • I tried logging into ea.com and was not prompted with T&Cs (only cookies).  I then went on to reset password and logged out of EA app and logged back in with the new password.  I'm still seeing the same behavior as before unfortunately.

  • I hadn’t played in a couple weeks.  I just downloaded a software update and now the situation is worse.  I still get the EULA but now I can’t get past the Accessibility screen.  When I click apply changes the save layer displays for a fraction of a second before save error dialog layer comes up.  I did eventually sneak past it by rapid hitting a during the split second save dialog but I get the same behavior on every subsequent screen and have to loop a couple times to proceed.  This has made the game pretty unplayable.  Since we’ve been at this a couple months now with support I’m close to asking for a refund as I don’t want to lose my career and start over.  Note I tried all of this in the AM and exited the game and tried again in the evening to isolate for server side issue or something.  Same behavior both times.

    thanks,

  • The new update fixed it for me. I reinstalled the game and verified the files. no longer an issue.

  • I have to go through lots of disclaimer screens every time I play as if it were first time.  Now after update I get loop of save errors and hard to get past these screens at all.  I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling EA app and the game but that had no impact on the behavior.  My only guess now is that my profile data is corrupted in some way.  I do not have any firewall/security stuff running beyond Win11 native.

  • I have received no response on my last response with the information requested.  The game is not playable and I’m no longer interested in continuing to troubleshoot after two months of interaction with slow response and no resolution.  I have requested refund through Steam and they rejected due to duration, which is unfortunate as I tried in good faith to remedy without a refund.  Please advise on next steps for refund.

  • I have the same issue, tried everything suggested in this post - didn't help šŸ˜•
