Server consistenly loses connection near end of challenge, no progress saved

Product: EA SPORTS PGA TOUR - MASTERS EDITION
Platform:PlayStation 5 Digital Edition
Summarize your bug Server consistently disconnects near end of level 3 Titleist challenge, all progress is lost
How often does the bug occur? Repeatedly
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? No idea
What happens when the bug occurs? Game reverts to main menu
What do you expect to see? I want my XP and Titleist awards

This is the last level 3 Titleist challenge, playing Patrick Cantlay for a full round at TPC Boston. I currently have 12/15 stars, and after hours of playing I am on the second shot of the 18th hole. Every time the network connection has crapped out, I have either met or were on track to successfully meet the requirements of the challenge: no bogeys, 2 eagles, and beating Cantlay. Every time I start to play my second shot on hole 18, the server conveniently "loses connection" and I have to start again. Each 18-hole round takes about 30 minutes, this is a significant time-waste to have to repeat all progress.

  1. Why is a network connection required when not playing an online/network game? I can play and progress my career on games like MLB the Show without a network connection or when its server is down.
  2. Why can't we attempt or complete quests and challenges without a network connection? Isn't data and progress saved to the PS5 hard drive? The equipment awards for sponsor challenges don't seem to change or update like items in the store.
  3. Why can't we use or exchange existing points and earned cash to purchase stars when just short of the total?

  • I do remember issues with the Titleist challenges months ago, I had them too. They were solved with a patch so we were able to complete them.

As for your 3 questions, I doubt you will get an answer. The lead designer of this game left to work with HB for their 2K golf game last year.
