    Total skills points a created golfer gets is 100. The power and putting can take more than 1 skill points. Putting takes at most 3 or 4 skills points. Power can hog as much as 10 to 12 skills points. All other categories take only one skills point. I set my skills points based on shots types I want to unlock.

    This is how I set my skills to get the shots. Also my style is a power golfer.

    For Power, I use 7 skills points to get silver power drive and power approach.

    For Driving Accuracy, I use 7 skills points to get silver power drive. I have 0 skills points for Driving control.

    For Approach Accuracy, I have 7 skills points to unlock gold knockdown. For approach control, I use 8 skills points to get gold finesse shot. For Approach recovery, I have 6 points to get silver hack shot.

    For Short game accuracy, I use 0. For short game recovery, I use 8 skills points to get gold flop, high flop and long flop. For short game control, I use 8 skills points to get gold pick and spinner shots.

    For putting, I use 8 skills points to get gold Texas Wedge.

@ELF014 Yeah as a matter of fact I do remember the Atari 2600 😲🫣😂🤣 but unlike yourself I didn’t start playing golf games until the EA/Tiger era started 🤔 And while I do appreciate your sage advice my friend it is clear to me that you appreciate the more “realistic” side of things where as I just want to play a nice relaxing game of golf where I’m not trying too pull my hair out by the end of the round 😉 I don’t have any issues with getting around the greens as such, my issue is with the swing mechanics themselves, for instance, I have tried the slow, medium, and fast swing speeds but they all seem the same to me 🤔 That, combined with the fact that IMHO when I have the game set on “Easy” then that line that runs up and down in the middle of the swing gauge should be a helluva lot wider than it is so that when I go to drive of the tee with my less than steady hands I can shoot straight down the fairway 🤔 But it’s all good 😊 It took me a bit to figure out what worked best for me in the EA/Tiger games of old and I’m sure that eventually I will get the hang of this one 😉 Thanks again for your input and I hope that eventually you are able to find a golf game that challenges your skills 😁👍

I believe what you are describing may not be your lack of ability but the RNG built into the game. I levelled out my character for Accuracy everywhere I could and it helped immensely in reducing the size of the dispersion zone.

But like yourself... I am still mystified by how exactly the swing mechanics work in this game. I can get myself around the course... but still have zero idea why some shots do what they do.

In 2K they are well defined, and you can feel what you did wrong without even looking at the swing meter. In fact I have it disabled when playing on 2K.

    @ELF014 Very true, and the other thing that I like about 2K23 is that they actually have a function in there where you can swing your club multiple times to gauge your swing accuracy for whichever controller stick you are using so that your swing is more consistent 🤔 Or at least that’s what it did for me 😁 Maybe EA should look into that.

      Being able to calibrate your swing would be a good addition to the game, if there was something to calibrate. As would a driving range and short game area. Or a complete online mode or so many other things missing.

      The EA swing still mystifies me after 5 months. As I said I can make my way through the course and score... but I truly do not understand how the swing mechanics actually work. I feel the RNG affects my shot more than my execution of it.
