I'm not ok with the label of the arcade game for EA. I will not talk about the 2K one because I don't like it at all. For the EA game the fact that it's too easy for good player to score great game doesn't make it an arcade gameplay.
The arcade label seems to tell that the gameplay of the game isn't right. But when I play on sim difficulty withtout any meter, the swing feeling and the way I think of my golf shot are like in real life. Swinging perfect swing are too easy, but the thinking and the mechanics are good.
I guess we can agree to disagree.
When I play EA it is on Sim settings with whatever else I can disable.
While I do like the swing much better than 2K's... the shot physics are lacking in EA. The roll out on mid to long irons seem off. And the spin on short irons are exaggerated... short shots around the green are ridiculous. You can flop the ball from any ball lie, location and the ball will stick where it lands like the ball has spikes.
The putting mechanics are not very realistic, in my opinion it should be velocity based. But it does match up with the rest of the game. You put the reticule where you want the ball to land and hit the ball.
RNG while it can be prevalent in the game... if you stay in the underswing I have found that the RNG is negligible.
So in my opinion... it is Simcade at best.
