Unexplained shot behaviour

@EA_IlliumThe problem is not about improving our gameplay... the gameplay is too easy as it is. You can easily score ridiculously low using just 6 of the 20 shot types.

The main complaints I am hearing are about the inconsistency in the game because of the RNG. Where the ball doesn't even end up in the dispersion zone on what appears to be a well struck shot.

I appreciate you taking the time to interact with us showing that you are in touch with what's going on in the forum.

I just wish that each released patch showed that we were moving in the right direction.

We are getting some bug fixes, which introduce new bugs... but the core gameplay is the same. Nothing is being done to improve the actual experience of the game.

Okay... I grant you the changes in the cup physics was positive step. But it was needed and should have been addressed before the games release. And what was done is still pretty broken...

Again thanks for posting... it at least lets us know there is someone in the void listening, though it doesn't seem you are empowered to do anything. There is a small level of comfort in that.

If you had flipped the channel to watch the LPGA the final score was in the single digits after 4 rounds. And only a handful were under par.

Being able to shoot -15 or -20 isn't my idea of fun. Though I don't begrudge those that do.

While your not advocating to increase the difficulty for everyone that is what generally happens in my experience. IMHO  

Now that I have unlocked "Power Drive" and have been using that, I can see that the shot dispersion is ramped up.

I get what they are trying to do with that, it's a kind of risk and reward, with power sacrificing accuracy, I get that but.....

.... If I nail a Power Drive perfect on the middle, I SHOULD NOT expect it to randomly fly away in the wrong direction(with the exception to wind, that actually does make sense). I strongly stand by that.

To make my point, if my shot was slightly to the left or right, I agree with the dispersion being exaggerated for using the power drive, that's the whole point, but don't punish any players when they do something right! I can't believe I have to spell that out

I would much prefer the swing meter to increase in speed when using the power drive, that makes getting the accuracy harder, that makes more sense, but perfect timed shots not following the aim arc in the slightest, surely you can see how wrong that is!?

@ELF014  You talk so much sense and I can see your dedication to the golf games past and present in other posts, so if you agree with me I know I am talking sense :-)

@Stevie-G-you-seeAs they say... this isn't rocket science. And you don't always need to reinvent the wheel to make things better.

The concept of a wheel has worked just fine for thousands of years. Refining it is what is important.

My ex would disagree with you about me being sensible.

@Stevie-G-you-seeThe power drive for sure has a much stronger dispersion. With a wide fairway, the power drive is great. With a narrow fairway and bunkers close by, that shot can be problematic regardless of how well you aim your shot. The power drive in narrow fairways has bitten me constantly. RNG has constantly said What you gonna do when the bunker runs wild on you each time I use power drive in narrow fairways. For narrow fairways with bunkers at a Par-5, I use the power drive and aim for the rough because I have a better shot of making the green from the rough instead of the bunker.

It really is counterintuitive that RNG is forcing players to make bad shots instead of good ones because the bad shots are providing better results. The good results from bad shots are incentivizing bad shots. I like the idea of rewarding good shots and punishing bad ones as stated by @ELF014 

HELLO!! 

I have updates!! After some long sessions and getting a bunch of SPECS and SKILLS I can now win a few here and there. However, the putting continues to be sub-par at best (pardon the pun!). In some courses a 15 foot putt will follow the trajectory I set up while in others it is still a crap-shoot. I use the trajectory indicator as a reference for where I don't want the ball to go because it is NEVER RIGHT! In some instances I have totally missed a three foot straight putt either short or wide left or right. But the shots that take the cake...OMG...the ones where I clearly have hit the ball hard enough and yet it perfectly balances on the rim of the cup!! This happens at least three times per round if not more!! If I can be this consistent making those damned rim shots (insert sarcasm here) then the rest of the game should be a walk in the park!!

Come on EA SPORTS, get it fixed please!! My dog is scared of me now when I yell and curse at the TV!!
