I’ve been playing for a week now in various modes and have been awarded some kind of points that slowly allow me to upgrade my skills, but I’ve not got any sort of points that allow me to buy equipment.
Am I missing something?
If you want to upgrade club performance you need Specs, with all other things you can buy being cosmetic only. What you need to buy any of these things from the store are Reward Points (that kind of look like gold coins). The best place I think to earn these is the daily/weekly/seasonal tournaments. There's a free to enter 'daily' tournament every 12 hours that will allow you to earn up to 1500 reward points and it's only 4 holes so doesn't take long. Reward Points can also be earned through some Challenges and Quests.
Sponsor challenges can earn you cosmetic upgrades directly too.
I keep doing daily and weekly tournaments competitive play,, career and skill progression but I"M not getting any of those gold coins. What am I missing?

Are you getting notifications of tournament rewards and if so are you claiming them in the Rewards tab?
Every free daily Arcade tournament guarantees you a minimum of 100 Reward Points. Of course if you're spending all the Reward Points you earn entering other tournaments you won't accrue any though.
I finally got some gold coins from doing the masters putting challenges. I needed to get 10 stars and I got a couple 100 coins only lol. not sure how to get 1000 coins everyday for the daily tourney. Thats gonna be rough there must be something else I'm missing.

i'm not getting any bud. Just got a couple hundred from doing the the masters putting challenge after getting 10 stars. I guess I have to give up trying to play a daily tournament once I run out of coins and just do weeklys. lol My other question is what happens when I run out of challenges to do?

How many you get will depend where you finish but you should always get at least some. What do you currently see in the Tournaments Final tab? This should show you your rank from completed tournaments, and you can also then see what rewards you should have got. These have to be claimed in the Rewards tab. If this isn't happening it's a bug you should report in the bugs section. There were issues but I thought they'd been sorted. They were fir me.
