The sad part is, when a game is brand new, their population is at it's highest.
I am sure you know that depending on the game, anywhere from 40% to 75% of the population stop playing the game after a month or two....in some cases 80-90% vanish.
If people go what the hell is this nonsense and put the game down and never come back, the game dies...has 3,000 active players within 6 months. Company stops supporting game because there is money to be made elsewhere.
Part of my issue is because I want this game to be successful to be honest.
So call for patience all you want, but if they are in fact finding it this difficult to add turn based within two weeks when it's already in the game offline....this isn't good. Patience on their part is only going to kill the population.

This is exactly my concern. While the core gameplay may be better than 2K (which is debatable), the lack of modes and features will drive people away and, as the numbers of engagement drop, so too will the eagerness of the suits at EA to pull the plug on support.
I forget if I said it here or on Reddit, but I've said that the way they released this game is working against them. Congratulations, you rushed to market in time for The Masters. Meanwhile, I now know two people who were waiting on buying a golf game until EA's game released, played it, were very disappointed, and went on to purchase 2K. And the only reason I haven't yet is because I still have 2 months left on my PlayPro sub. And all for the same reasons being rehashed over and over here and on Reddit. No multiplayer modes, no turn-based online play, useless rough and bunkers, the triple-bogey pickup, a worthless storefront, etc...
And EA's silence is deafening. I'd like to think that the dev team is still working, that more content is coming, and that they would like to refine the game into something worthy of its presentation, but I know how EA operates. I've been watching them for years and years. For them to spend the time and resources to rescue a game like PGA, a game that I would all but guarantee is the lowest grossing title in the EA Sports family, especially if the user base has already started to turn their backs on it, well, it would be a true change of form, and one I would consider *highly* unlikely. Though, I would LOVE to be proven wrong. That's some crow I would happily eat.
Maybe the real question is, where is the threshold at which they give up on the game altogether (aside, perhaps, from its continued monetization), and have they already reached it?- 2 years ago@Catphish37
The worst part is that these critical posts are as non toxic as I've seen the internet be in a long time.
I can understand developers rolling their eyes at over the top personal attacks on their intelligence levels etc...
When people suggest stuff and you say you are listening then it shouldn't be difficult to communicate specifically if you're adding some of the most requested stuff.
Maybe we hear something in the next few days about their progress we shall see. - 2 years ago

i think you’ve pretty much nailed it there!
they shot themselves in the foot. To me they went for what they thought was real short term gain, aligning it with masters week, rather than fleshing the game out a bit, removing the ton of bugs and putting some multiplayer in.
I can absolutely imagine that either people won’t buy it because they’ve read or know turn order and other online modes aren’t in….
Or they’ve bought it and are pretty disgusted with how bare bones a lot of it is!
this company, their goal is to make money… and as soon as that slows, that’s pretty much it.
m so to me…. People not buying it in the first place and people walking away because of how empty it is….
yeh, I can’t really see them ploughing a lot into it.
maybe another few tweaks, just to show willing.

I for one am definitely loving this game. I find it suits my swing style much more than 2k, though I have a few issues still:
It definitely doesn't punish you enough from the rough or bunkers.
Store is pretty average.
This is one of a few games I play at the moment, yet I'm already at level 40 out of 50, which is apparently the max level. Seems odd..
Multiplayer modes are almost non existent, especially if you want to party up with a few friends.
Having to reinvite the same group for every round seems like an oversight.
NEED a much better camera for sim putting. You just can't tell which way it breaks and are hoping that the ball position is enough and that it doesn't change direction.
