All data lost after update

Hi. I’ve been playing plants vs zombies 2 for at least ten years. Last week my game updated and lost all my data and I have restarted from scratch. I’ve contacted ea help and nothing has happened. I’m really annoyed as I had actually just bought some new plants in the Black Friday sale, only the third time I had spent proper money in the game. I checked information from when this had happened a few years ago and my player id has changed.  Any ideas as I will not start again and don’t want to write off money that I have spent for better game play.
