Appease-mint vs Conceal-mint

Background:

- I've fully upgraded my 2 favorite mints - Reinforce-mint and Spear-mint - and I'm looking for my next candidate.

- My candidates are Appease-mint and Conceal-mint. Both of them are at level 1 at the moment. Other mints are out of consideration.

- The goal is to make my life easier in Arena, especially Zomboss battles.

That said,

1. One-time effect of Conceal-mint is much better than AM for sure. But level 1 drags 6 zombies which is already decent, I doubt if it's worth upgrading it to lvl 10 which will drag 15.

2. One-time effect of Appease-mint sucks, I know that, but that's fine.

3. The value of AM/CM is their boost effects, lvl 10 boost lasts for 15 secs over lvl 1's 6 secs. That's likely to deplete Zomboss' life bar > 3 times

4. AM family includes many peas and Bowling Bulbs most importantly.

5. Meanwhile, CM family includes Shadow Peashooter, Dusk Lobber, Moonflower, Grimrose.

So, the question is, not which of AM/CM is better, but which of them is more worthwhile to upgrade to lvl 10. Any thoughts? 🙂

  • Both 😛

    I would say Appease-mint

    1. Bowling Bulb: already one of the best plants in normal AND Boosterama tourneys, it's used a lot, also in Penny Boss battles

    2. In quite some tourneys the combo of ThreePeater+Torchwood gives the highest scores (Torch is also Appease-mint family)

    3. If you plant Appease-mint behind a Torchwood, the peas also catch on fire (iirc)

The best levels are 2,4 and 7 as they knock time off the refresh rate and anything over 7 is incredibly expensive unless you're a mintionaire.

Both appeasemint and concealmint are good powermints that are very useful in arena, but i think if you're worried about zomboss battles you should go with appeasemint.

Bowling bulb and threepeater/ torchwood are usually pretty good against zomboss.

I think if i were you i would concentrate on levelling up the more useful powermints (about half of them) to levels 2,4 and 7 as they all bring something useful to the party.

While maxing out spearmint is an excellent idea, maxing out reinforcemint isn't unless you have a massive pile of mints.

Most of reinforcemints abilities are just as good at level 1 as higher levels (knockback and armour boost) and all higher levels do is decrease the refresh rate and allow peanut to spew peas a little longer.

I'm a big fan of reinforcemint but i recognise his limitations.

I sat down and wrote out a plan of powermint levels/ benefits and over time upgraded them as necessary now have maxed them out in two profiles,  am currently taking my level 5 powermints to level 7 and have a level 1 profile as well.

The fandom site has tables showing the costs and benefits of each powermint and it costs a whopping  4,150 mints to buy and max out a powermint  (enlightenmint excepted).

My advice is pretty simple~~ you upgrade whichever mint/ plant you use the most 😛 I guess there is no point upgrading appease mint for eg if you don't use any of the plants under its family~ So have a good think about what is your go to strat in arena and then upgrade that relevant mint.

    @ankopang2

Your choice of which powermint to upgrade is controlled by EA and they stopped the normal cycling and now roll them out according to their own whims.

Improvemint events are held but not often and there isn't any advance notice so it's a case of wait and see, the latest powermint in store (enchantmint) is only available for 9 days so perhaps they're changing from a monthly schedule to a weekly schedule (plus overlap) which would at least make them come round quicker.

If your goal is to make life easier in Arena (especially Zomboss battles) I'd go for Appease-mint. Bowling Bulb (or Three Peater+ Torchwood) almost always shines in Zomboss Battles whereas I can't see Conceal-mint really working. [Edit: Jester might ruin the fun]

Conceal-mint might be better in some tournaments, though.

    If I had to make a decision between a level 10 Appease-mint or a level 10 Conceal-mint I'd definitely go for Appease-mint.

  • Thank you all for great advices. Looks like Appease-mint is the way to go at the moment 🙂

Yes it might be better to have multiple lv7 mints thinking about cost-effectiveness, but it's just my style 🤓
