I just went with the default name when I set up this account... I don't see a way to rename myself... Do I have to make a new profile, or is there some way to change my name?

I was looking for something a little more specific. I thought I was at the main EA site... apparently I was looking at the forums main site.
So, the answer, it turns out was
Go to http://www.EA.com, log in
click on the user icon on the top right, click on account settings and in there you will see where to change your ID. (also, you will have to enter an MFA id at least twice.)
Thanks for this great info! I just changed my user name over there, but it’s still coming up as this auto-generated name over here.
After changing my name on the main EA site, then returning here to this forum, my username is still auto-generated. I returned to the main EA site to double check, and my changed username appears over there. It saved correctly.
I changed my ea ID as well and it shows I did on ea site and in game during the bf6 beta but here in the forums using my old one I made when I was like 18
