game forces a patch which breaks game - version 9.2.1 on iPod 7th gen iOS 15

I recently redownloaded Plants vs. Zombies 2 after years of not playing it. I had just updated my iPod to iOS 15 and I start a new game instead of loading my years old save and as as soon as I finish the tutorial I am forced to apply a patch and it does so and then I lose access to the game because it goes to EA logo then plays music on a black screen but then the music cuts off and its just a black screen and I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it loaded to the start screen/main menu and asked me to apply the patch and said no after what happened last time and then hit play and IT APPLIES THE PATCH ANYWAY AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I have added a video of what happens.

  • I downloaded the new update yesterday.

This morning I started the game and it started to apply the patch .

    I haven’t upgraded to iOS 15, I have a device on iOS 14 and one on 12.

It’s probably the game and nothing to do with IOS

  • I don't think it has to do with iOS either I only said what iOS version I am running just in case that gets asked. Personally I hope it has nothing to do with iOS since it was a pain to update my iPod so much so that it entered a recovery state for hours because it failed to update since I had to rely on my computer and the only chargers I have are either old (so old that they are internally damaged) or are externally damaged yet still useable.
