General tip, not for the Battlez:
Use shovel to pick the plants for sun from the other rows if therest a strong zombie in a different lane who's eating away your plants and you need more sun, quickly. ๐

With Spearmint, I will pick up Spikerocks during the final wave if I need some SUN.
And when I see a Giga starting to destroy the Spikerock - no sense just giving up the SUN !!!
While on the theme on adventure mode and further to @lawmfw suggestions, do not plant a new nut or chard guard on top of the old damaged ones, dig up the old one to claim some of the suns back before planting a new one.
Adventure Mode:
Potato Mine should be the first plant you put down on the lawn once a Zombie appears....gives you time to plant SUN
then plant your SUN as fast as you can (I find a need for no more than 3 SunFlowers or 2 Twin SunFlowers)
same in Dark Ages 0- no more than 3 sun shrooms
Here is a tip for those trying to collect seed packets to level up their plants:
use a second device
synchronize both devices so that the 12 hour World Pinata tracker resets for both at the same time
I found this works by accident...I switched to a new phone and still had the first phone with PvZ2 active and just happen to be at the time the 12 hour World Pinata tracker resets

1) Since transferring accounts between the two platform were made possible (last year?) I would expect this will be possible.
2) I thought sprouts are available to be purchased with gems, have you got a version on IOS which can be purchased with coins?

@HenryThePear I don't know if there is a way to get the offer multiply times. It could be that deleting the app and reinstalling through App Store brings the offer back. But tbh I don't think that's worth the effort and it might be seen as an exploit that of course we won't (ab)use ๐
If using shine vine and you want a big burst of sun in arena wait 30 seconds before hitting 'let's rock', doing this gives me 10x big suns using 10x level 5 shine vines, hitting 'reload' then 'let's rock' straightaway gave me just 2x big suns.

Putting on turbo mode will reduce the time you have to wait before hitting let's rock (x1.5 speed).
As it's escape root week I've been playing with it and i found that if you want it to arm quicker if you change an already armed escape root with the just planted escape root once they swap they will both be armed.
I also found that if i tried swapping a vined plant then just the inside plant would move.
@mjtrichardso found a workaround for the restore purchases bug, normally a harmless bug that goes away in it's own time but now has started crashing the game for some players.
Penny's pursuit is an excellent source of resources (seeds, gems and coins) but sometimes it is a once a day (24 hours) and sometimes a twice a day (12 hour) tournament and you can tell which one it is by looking at the sign by the ZPS meter.
How to get a massive sun burst at the start of an Arena match with shine vine.
I have level 5 shine vine and if i plant my shine vines first then press the turbo button and count to 15 before hitting 'let's rock' then i get 525 sun as soon as the match starts.
That's 75 sun per shine vine.

EDIT; I now have level 7 shine vine which gives out bigger suns. I now get 100 sun per shine vine.

I caught it by accident while recording the PP (Penny's Pursuit)...
And
I dont think that all fishermen do the trick...
Because, after then, i paid attention to them and none did the trick...
I think, it is only the LAST fisherman of a stage/level who does it
