Google playstore/ applestore automatically backs up your data, but you can sign up to EA's email registration scheme and keep your player id number in a safe place.
There isn't a manual save option but it's a common occurrence for unexplained data loss to happen to pvz2 players who find their accounts reset.
EA keeps backups in it's servers so a player can easily get a unique code sent to their email address without bothering EA HELP but as long as you have your player id number then EA can manually retrieve your account as a last resort.
