I've been lucky in starting out Battlez with a good stock of gems and coins in hand. I've also been prudent when it comes to fighting or backing off if necessary.
I exercised caution at the beginning then gradually upped my game.
I was helped tremendously by having three tournaments in succession where I did really well. They enabled to to max out several plants, which in turn makes life a bit easier as the tournaments continue.
It's still by no means a guarantee of winning, because some of my plants have a way to go yet.
Take the upcoming tournament as an example. It seems like after the necessary Gravebuster and Bombard-Mint to clear the filled in arena, the go to plant will be the Bowling Bulb. Mine is still only at level 8, so I'll have to assess the risk factors rather than jumping straight in with both feet.
If I can find a good back-up plant that improves my chances I'll be happy. Otherwise I'll take things as they come and hope I manage to secure sufficient seed packets for the Shadow Peashooter to let me take it to level ten. After that, assuming I'm successful, I may well back off if my streak seems to be in too much danger.
You can try the laser but again you need to be above 12. I used the bulb also in level 7 and did pretty good. The idea is to kill a lot early not to build up fire power for the last seconds as there are no massive waves in the end. I use spearmint as soon i clear the graves to produce some spikerocks to kill the soft zombies. I was never able to pas 300 streak as the game reset during the game and I loose the streak.
My Laser Beam is Level 7 and I have been able to us it to consistently score over 1M in BattleZ and even reached 3M a few times. Sadly I was at level 9 and the second 3M game I lost by less then 10,000 in the last few seconds.
I was using Gems to try and keep streaks alive but never did get past 16 levels and decided it was not worth the GEMS. Perhaps when I have stronger plants...
The rich just get richer !! Or is that the Strong just get Stronger ??
I have also been using Spearmint and ignoring the Blastnauts as much as possible.
