Is it possible to get far in Battlez as a F2P?

I don't have any of the "necessary" or "meta" plants, like power lily, imitater, sun bloom, etc. At this point, I would gladly take even just a decently powerful premium plant. I find myself getting ...

It is possible.  I played with F2P plants for a long time now and can still enjoy in Jade.

With the current streak rewards changed to 7 as maximum, you would only need to win the first 7 games to be able to get the rewards.  Just do as @PowerToss  and other forum members suggest, check out the strategies posted here to help you get a start.
