Thanks @Lambsy65 .  I will try this on my oldest iphone on Monday after the current tournament ends.

I have noticed there is a newer update 10.5.2 on my iPhone, maybe this is a version with fixes where the 10.5.1 failed.

The update I installed was 10.5.2.

To be honest I didn’t look until I saw your post.

The adds are working but it does ask if you want to allow third party adds and to confirm your age.

Where's muh dang mints? I was upgrading my EnchantMint but after update, the Mints weren't for sale in the store.

This new update seems extremely crashy.

Another patch who destroy game. No New plants. Nightcap added weeks ago and still not on the game. 

10.5.1 - Good but without ads.

10.5.2 - ads back but bugs back too.  

Probably Ads are create problems. 

I don't know. Why devs upload version with full of bugs? How to Play if game are closed when you Play on arena, piniata, penny etc.

One of my older iPhone got the problem forced ads again and the PVZ2 App stuck at boot-up and then crashed unless I manually turned of internet data access prior to starting the App. So I carried out the usual remedy by deleting the App and re-install last night, to my surprise, the App restarted with a new loading image and after checking, I realised I now have the latest 10.6.1 with 2 new plants.  Guess I will be a brave volunteer this time on the new release and see if there are any other working items working in past now changed to a different status. 

For our latest guinea pig, offering a pot of coffee & kolache. Fruit, cheese or nut? Unfortunately cannot make any jaffa cakes. Missing ingredients.

I have updated and to my surprise everything is working ,even my old IPad mini which only started working properly after the previous update. 

I spoke too soon, this morning when I started to play it downloaded the game again, applied the patch and the calendar didn’t work
