My save keeps getting overwritten

I play pvz2 on a ipad and android phone. I use the EA server save to sync between both devices. Last Monday ( a week ago), my ipad progress had its progress all reset. Checking on my android, it worked fine, but my ipad wasnt syncing (even thought it was already signed in). So on my ipad i made the mistake i hitting the player server sync button, which seemingly overwritten my cloud save with the "new game". Since then I've reached out to EA support and gotten my game "restored" like 4-5 times. Each time when its restored, I can choose the local save, which I do to get my save back. After a few minutes, or if I restart the app, it resets back to a "new" save. On my most recent restore by support, I logged in on my ipad, tried making coin purchases, watch adds etc so changes are made to my save. I checked on my android device which I set up at the conflicting profiles prompt page....which I logged in and chose my missing save (which was now showing up on EA Cloud). I close the pvz2 app(s), start back up and it starts fresh again. I then uninstall/clear cache of pvz2 (on my android) log back in and my cloud save is now zero'd out again with a fresh save.

I keep opening EA tickets (where they restore my save)....followed by my save being overwritten a few minutes later. I feel like I'm running around in circles. Am I doing something wrong here? Is there some start new game save option Im not aware of? Or anyone have any advice on this? EA support pretty much stops after the save restore, whereas I have to restart over the request process over again (when it gets wiped again).

    To the best of my knowledge, pvz2 updates itself automatically every time you visit the main screen.

    There isn't a manual player operated save feature, but you can download your last save from EAs backup servers if you signed up to and use their email registration scheme.

    You simply send them your registered email address and they will send you a unique code to your email address that will restore the game to it's last save.

    It is still worth keeping a screenshot of your player id number in case of account loss.

    A more common issue is complete loss of account data, many players have recently been reporting this, particularly after an update but it has been an issue for years and there was a particularly bad outbreak about 5 years ago after an update when a lot of players lost their account data.

    @MAGICDAVESHROOMI have no memory of the outbreak 5 years ago - I stopped playing the game for a while back then. Current symptom is Force Sync Player Data still works, but whenever the game gets restarted, the local game profile is wiped out.

    Looks like @rainhaven2050 is indeed in the same situation as I am. The save doesnt stay.

    @MAGICDAVESHROOM I wasnt playing pvz2 5 years ago. Last time I had data loss like this was a few months ago when there was a server sync issue in the US, that resulted in lost of gems/coins....which I accepted since I still had my plants, seeds and progress. The issue me and Rainhaver2050 seems to be encountering is that its a total loss of account (ingame) data (via the save). Player ID is the same, but the local save that uploads keeps getting replaced with a fresh game, even after a save restore. 

    My most recent restore (few minutes ago), I made sure to check that the new save was showing up on EA servers (I had my android device pvz2 reset, so I can confirm on the conflicting profile selection page-that it was showing the EA icon). With the save "temporarily" restored, I made changes (seed purchases, add watches), hoping that it uploads up the changes, incase modified timestamp might play a part....trying to figure what can be done to keep the save. Sadly after the pvz2 app restarted, it started a new game save again. Both Android and Ipad were running the newest version.

    I did point the EA support guy (Ashwani) to this thread, pointing out that @rainhaven2050 also has this issue. He mentioned that they will escalate to devs/community manager and will hopefully get a reply in this thread.
