I think you just don't understand starfruit.
I've been using him to kill those pesky relic hunters, he shoots directly behind, up, down and two angled forward shots.
He's not much use low level but a line behind pokra gets rid of them.
EDIT; If one lands on top of a column of starfruit then all 5 start shooting at it.

@MAGICDAVESHROOM That is my main problem.....my brain can't understand the logic on how to plant them properly for maximum benefit.... 😕
