Plants vs Zombies 2 Big Wave Beach #18

I am unable to progress past Big Wave Beach #18. The level loads, Dave's chat bubble pops up, no speech audio, though, and then the app crashes and closes two or so seconds later. Any suggestions? I tried turning the audio to zero, but that didn't make any difference. I've experienced no other problems.
