Thanks for letting us know what you are seeing with PvZ2 Mobile, I wanted to take a moment to confirm if everyone is still running into this issue? If so can you see if any of the following steps help?
- Close the game and restart your device then relaunch
- Check for OS updates, then check if you have any game updates or see if you can get in
- Switch from Cell Data to Wifi (or vice versa), and ensure any VPN you have is disabled
- Make sure your Date/Time are correct on your device
If you keep seeing this issue would it be possible to get the following information and I can pass this on to the team?
- Device (OS version and Model)
- Which version of PvZ2 do you have
- The region you are playing from
- PvZ Player ID (a guide to locating can be found here)

There has been a data push and the forced update message on the old 9.8.1 has been lifted for access to Arena and Peny's Pursuit is possible again.
The not so good news is that with the 9.8.1 build, the defined rewards for Piñata Party will be running out in a few days and for players counting on earning 80 gems by competing the 8 extra hard level epic quest, this is not available from 9.8.1.
Have my fingers (and toes) crossed for you all hoping this 9.9.x update problem is sorted before the period for the new rewards ends.
