Pvz 2 Update Not visible

I wanted to share a problem with Plants vs. Zombies 2 and its updates...

So, plants vs. Zombies 2 says "in order to play arena or penny's pursuit, I have to update the game". So then I click the mode and it says " update plants vs. Zombies 2? " and I click yes and it now prompts me to the update page where I can update plants vs. Zombies 2.

But it doesn't show the option to update plants vs. Zombies 2 it just says " open " and so I can't play either Arena or penny's pursuit on plants vs. Zombies 2

Extra info:

- I am on IOS

- Use an iPad with not the latest version of the app store ( also doesn't let me update the app store )

Please if you can help with this issue I will happily take the advice from this community

There has been a data push and the forced update message on the old 9.8.1 has been lifted for access to Arena and Peny's Pursuit is possible again.
The not so good news is that with the 9.8.1 build, the defined rewards for Piñata Party will be running out in a few days and for players counting on earning 80 gems by competing the 8 extra hard level epic quest, this is not available from 9.8.1.
Have my fingers (and toes) crossed for you all hoping this 9.9.x update problem is sorted before the period for the new rewards ends.

@fv1toxh07r8l ....I manage to upadate mine by opening the logs icon go to daily or events tab and play Penny's Pursuit campaign and it will ask you to update the said game and it will update the Arena game at the same time
