PvZ can’t play Penny’s Pursuit or Arena

When I try to play Penny’s Pursuit or Arena, it asks me to update.  I press ok, then it updates and takes me to the main menu.  Then, I go to Penny’s Pursuit or Arena and run into the same screen.

I have the most current version.  Any ideas to fix this?
