Pvz2 crashes constantly since 2 January
I play pvz2 on a tablet (Samsung) and since 2 Jan it crashes after 2-3 minutes ( regardless of what I'm doing). All is upp to date. This started after a massage abort "wait game data update" appeared...

Same happened to me but very recently. On 13th January to be precise. My device is Iqoo 9.
After two days of constant frustration I changed the frame rate back to 60htz from 120 and since then it stopped crashing. I guess the device is forcing the application to run 120htz and it isn't compatible yet.
I loved the 120htz game play but I don't think theres another way around until the devs come up with an update where 120htz frame rate is official.
Thanks for sharing your finding. I think this game is an old game which was designed to run at 30Hz on early mobile devices so your finding might have been significant.
Calling to players with devices which allow the setting of frame rate and have been experiencing unexpected crashing to try out this workaround and report your results here please?
- @eieio_31310 My phone has a screen frequency of 60 hertz. The game still keeps crashing. The problem has something to do with the ad block. This is a pre-loading of ad blocks.
Most often, the game crashes after viewing an ad block. Or at the beginning of the round. When the game tries to pre-download an ad block to show it at the end of the round.@sergeyturbay The pre-load ads is done badly, I have had this issue on my old iPhone 5s since 10.0.x update, It was as you said the ads is calling for graphic modes which my phone did not like, but all of my newer iPhones are un affected. I doubt very much PopCap is going to spend time and effort to fix this compatibility issue with such an old device so I play the game and watch ads on my other phones instead.
Now with the Android issue, it is different, I have seen some phones reported are late last year's modes and from a big company so would expect this issue to be fixed asap.
Changing my phone's frame rate did not solve the problem, but turning on airplane mode does mean I can play adventure without crashing.

I thing this has to do with the recent update.
For me it was working perfectly and smooth until then. No signs that the game would be too old and could not handle new devices.
Once I updated the game in play store I could not finish one single match. The game is crashing even when just opening the store and is absolutely unplayable.
My phone is new and can handle any sort of other games.
I followed someones advice to reinstall the whole game and now I cannot sign back in due to another bug that appeared. (also saw reports on it).
