- linuxPigPen6 years agoSeasoned Ace@Perfume-shroom92 Confinement, in medical terms, is being put in bed for purpose of childbirth. 🙂
@HypnoDjurre Thanks. I noticed that, too =) It's good for earning seeds but bad for earning coins since entering the PP through that banner "costs" 1,000 coins. So you basically had to hit 1,000 coins+ to earn some coins^^
- @linuxPigPen Interestingly, having done obs&gynae placement, I never heard that word being used...ever... xDDD
- linuxPigPen6 years agoSeasoned Ace@Perfume-shroom92 It's a tad archaic but Doc Martin still uses it. It's also all the rage on 'Call The Midwife'.
the 'archaic' term is more applicable than today's term...
and for sure so many people are now in 'voluntary confinement' and suffering just as if it was truly confinement; given all the children under foot !!
funny to hear parents griping about struggling to help their children with "homework"
If using escape root, which has a long arming time, you can shorten it by having a ready armed escape root ready to swap with a just planted unarmed one, they swap and both are ready to use.

Nice find!

Vines aren't supposed to incur a Penalty, when eaten. Hmmm.
@FantastiXxPVZ Yep. I thought so, too...but then I tested it during the WW tournament: https://streamable.com/g8mqn and asked Haem:
From Design: "Vines are hybrids, wherein Vines as a plant group share commonalities, but individual vines take on the characteristics of the plant type they emulate. So Shine Vine is a sun generator, Blastberry is a lobber, and Pyre is a flamethrower - none of which on their own would count as defensive plants. Just because they're vines, that does not make them defensive."
Luckily, Pea-nut doesn't count as hybrid...
- Even when you can't unlock plants in PP anymore, still keep playing the feature to to get 20 gems minimum every day.

Bottom line, I now start the day by doing the PP Zomboss guest first, this gives me between 18 to 24 gems depending on the speed I can clear the zombies which carry the gem drops, 5 gems from completing the 'Collect Seed Packets', 5 gems for 'Play Penny's Pursuit', so this brings me 28+ gems done, I then watch the ads and complete the two free plays on Arena which give me a further 14 gems, this now enable to me to get 42+ gems per day (27 before PP)
Possible counters to Yeti in Arena are : Electrici Tea,Imp Pear,Hypno shroom, chilly bean, PF Missle Toe,Hot Date,PF Citron.

I think it is better to replace PF Missle-Toe with plant-fooded Sun Bean since PF any attacking plants with enough hits would get him either to moonwalk backwards or killed anyway.
There are other plants I have in mind but not been using it myself on Yeti:
1) Shadow pea and grimrose, not sure they will drag him to the ground.
2) Chomper and snap pea, not sure if they will swallow him whole.

Snap Pea can’t insta kill Yeti. Don't know where to post this, but I tried Reinforce-mint-ing a column of Gumnut (lvl 1), and since the waves of zombies were just arriving and some of them were yet to step on the lawn, the bubbles splashed on them outside the lawn.
A pharaoh zombie is the only one stuck there. My Laser Bean didn't react to him since he's not entering the lawn yet. So I can only wait. Pretty sure I was waiting until I can plant another column of lvl 1 Gumnuts and still waited some more until he's finally free.
I suppose Laser Bean managed to kill those other weaker zombies outside the lawn by being triggered by the zombies on the lawn in front of them. Imagine if I used non-piercing damage plants, I might wait forever.
The normal bug report can be done via the Help Center but given EA's current focus is on other new games, this is not likely to be addressed in a rush.
Thankyou for sharing so we are mindful of this and not to use Gumnut/Reinforcemint in such situation.
@eieio_31310I'm not sure if it's a bug at first. Since I think there are other plants which attack zombies before the enter the lawn. But now I just realized that some zombies don't eat plants, like Mecha-Football zombie. I just gummed him in Arena, and he seems to be stuck without eating the gum.
If such zombie gets stuck alone before entering the lawn like the scenario above, without your plant killing it, or no zombies behind him to eat him away, then you'll literally wait forever (or until your phone battery dies).
- @ForestOutlook So what happens when you put down reinforce mint with gumnut? Does it activate the bug pink bubble that sticks down multiple zombies?
The bubblegum is eaten by the zombies but a normal adventure mode zombie would take a long time to eat through the gum, unlike an Arena zombie which would probably get through it in a couple of chomps.

@ForestOutlookSo what happens when you put down reinforce mint with gumnut? Does it activate the bug pink bubble that sticks down multiple zombies? There's no problem if the exploding bubble gum rain down the zombies inside the lawn. It only becomes a problem if the gums rain down on the zombies before they enter the lawn. The plant food effect is mainly to blame, and reinforce-mint effeft is to activate Gumnut's pfe. This is actually not an easy to encounter bug. But could pose more problem the higher the level your Gumnut is, or the more Gumnuts are on the lawn. Since more gums will be spread, if not enough zombies on the lawn, they'll target zombies before they enter the lawn too.
Indeed, it's just that some zombies don't eat plants, and thus they don't eat the gums as well. For these zombies to proceed, you need to kill them with your plants, or to have them eaten by the zombies behind them.
From reddit:
The Hit Points are the Gum's Health, which is Tall-nut level. Gum Health Boost is the health of the zombie that's gummed, multiplied by a percentage, and added to the health of the Gum. So at lvl1 it's 300; that means that the top health of the zombie that's gummed is multiplied by 300% and added. At level 10 it's multiplied by 1000% (10x).
The gum takes smash damage, but if it's a gargantuar's gum, it's basically smashing through its own health times at least 3.
All-stars... they do smashing damage but no insta-kill. So how many smashes can gum take? It depends on the health of the zombie that's gummed.
The arcade machine will just crush a Gumnut that hasn't gone off. But if a Gumnut has gummed another zombie, the Arcade zombie will push the cabinet past the gummed zombie, and then will be blocked by the gummed zombie and start doing chewing damage on the gum. [Haem's comment: It's likely the same story with Ice Blocks though that wasn't specifically addressed in the reply]
This means that the gum depends on the zombie's health. So, although, the Zombies in Arena do more damage, they also have more health which makes the gum tougher. It's a really interesting plant.
The Football helmets do damage with there pushing effect, so they will "eat through" the gum. It's just takes a long time 🙂
Now I am wondering how Octo zombie and Wizard zombie deal with the sticky gum.....
Need to try this out in adventure and see but I have not even started getting a level 1 gumnut yet maybe someone can do the honor & confirm.
- @eieio_31310 I have unlocked gumnut and level it to Mastery so it will take a while for him to chew..
Thanks @HenryThePear . So you are confirming instead of covering up/transforming the gum, Octo and Wizard are starting to chew them?
