Over 10 years I am sure I have spent over $100 USD on Premium plants.

Not a bad investment for that time period !

Hmm, EA's 'free' game is quite expensive.

I am a FTP player (plants wise) but have had spent £99.99 on gems to get the gauntlets when Battlez (now known as Arena) was introduced. 

The new game mode was enjoyable so I did not mind paying for it.  However, I would not like paying for premium and power ups so am stay playing with all given 'free' plants.

If you're on Android you can do google opinion rewards for money towards plants, they don't pay much per survey but it adds up.

Sure does.  Google Opinion rewards have paid for three of my Premium plants already in just the past four months.  Plants I might have never bought otherwise...unless of course I win the lottery and can afford to buy plants for everyone I want to do so !!

I have literally spent thousands of pounds on games since the days of the Sinclair ZX spectrum and i can honestly say thay this "FREE" game is the most expensive game I've ever owned and i will never download another "FREE" game ever again.

Just you wait, PvZ3 should be released in 2020 !!   The 3D graphics/animation will blow you away !!!!

I bought the pinata tracker package. I believe that was 12USD.

In addition i bought 12 premium plants, 5 of which i have no use for except to relieve the boredom of grinding.

I always take Gold Bloom, Imitated into every Inzanity quest and usually into every grind.

1 Gold Bloom

2 Imitator

3 Power Lily

Only 3 I take into Arena.

4 Wasabi Whip

5 Grapeshot

Use these in almost all grinds and Inzsnity.

6 Caulipower

Use in all "Prepare your defense" quests

7 Dandelion

Something about this plant is almost zen like.

It's also useful against jester. He can't reflect it back.

8 Torchwood

Double damage is hard to argue with.

Apple Mortar

I bought these to gain an advantage in their tournaments. Rarely use.

So my damage is $72 plus tax.

@linuxPigPen. Witch Hazel in arena is surprisingly good, on planting she creates a toadstool (immediately boosted) and after that fumeshrooms (also immediately boosted).😁

Thank you all for your replies. It seems like most of you have spend some money in some way or another.  I have to try the google opinion reward to get some free money!  I don't know how I missed the gems for some of the now pay for plants i.e. goldbloom.  But I guess that was during the time when I stopped playing because I couldn't get updates on my old phone.

@MAGICDAVESHROOMI only bought her 2 weeks ago and am at level 7 closing in on 8.
I'm leaving the 3rd column from left open for her. She absolutely nerfs Turkey ball. Still learning her capabilities. But its cool when the Toadstool spawns boosted. Blew me away 1st time I noticed that.

Oh that ugly plant, you have to make it angry (where it turns into a brown Hulk) give it plant food and Enforce-mint, then it is useful.

I have not spent any money on anything. Sure i can lose sometimes but having tried most of the premium plants by now in some way, I don't think i am missing much 🙂 I can still win battlez and that is the only thing that matters to me. Some premium like imitator is good i admit but doesn't really affect my survival 😛

$43. Caulipower, gold bloom, torch, imitator and power Lily . I accidentally spent $20 on seed packets for gold bloom thinking I was getting the plant too or it woukd be $23.

i have been playing a while but not from the beginning. I started right around when mints began. I refused to pay $ until recently, I built up the seeds first. As an example my power Lily went right to level 9 when I finally decided to buy it this week.

I agree with you guys. This game is the most expensive FREE game I have ever played. Instead of this game, you can buy 4-5 pcs 3D games, such as GTA V. If you would like to reach mastery levels for free, you must spend a complete year (doing nothing else) maybe, watching all the ads and playing free games. Even so you will not have a lot of plants and additional things. If you can find something better to do instead of playing PvsZ 2, you are lucky. I started playing this game as soon as it was established. After finishing all episodes I removed. After a couple of years I set it up again, It is very different from the first update. The game barely says that "If you want to win you have to pay". I may play the game may be my plants goes up to level 7. I will remove the game after some time due to high cost and time loss. I believe the game owner earns too much even from FTPs. It is not nice at all.
