Forum Discussion
- @eieio_31310 I recommend Primal Potato Mine based strategies for level 1 plants. I think 2m+ is easy.
This week's tournament is a challenge for low level plants.
On on hand I want to stun lock Zomboss to get as many bonus score flips as possible but on the other I need him to summon zombies carrying plant foods since it is required to boost my attacking power with the mint.
I tried a few Appease-mint family plants and a few delaying/slowing down plants but none seem to be able to get him to flip 20 times, so 8.7M is the best I can do.
Week 211 boosterama.
I used a strategy I saw from subreddit using low level plants and this brought me 3M, by adding a mint to enhance Imp Pear, this bring me a lot closer to 4M.
Week 227 Rhubarbarian Boss fight
I took out my level 1 plants to give them a try and managed to break 10M on first try.
This is the best I get after 5 practices.
Week 228 - Mega Gatling Pea tournament
Tried two strategies, surprisingly, Solar Sage has done better than Imp Pear for the first time.
Setup
Strategy 1 Solar Sage and Appeasemint plants
Strategy 2 - Imp Pear
- @eieio_31310 Nice strategy for L1 plants. Unfortunately I don't have Sage in my level 1 profile so I just gonna have to use Imp Pear instead.
@eieio_31310 I have had a few more attempts last weekend and finally managed to break 4M. I did replace Solar Sage with 3P though.
Nice score to you too @HenryThePear .
I had tried Threepeater in place of MGP but the scores were lowered. 4M is sometimes good for 7-win streak already.
Week 229 Boosterama.
I have had a quick try with level 1 plants and so far I have not yet found a reliable strategy to hold off the zombies from breaking through my defense towards the end.
The best score I get so far is 8.6M.
- @eieio_31310 I have also run into the problem for the 3P week... I have only cracked 1M for level 1 plants.
Week 230 Threepeater tournament pre-boosterama
Normally some pre-boosterama games are not low level plants friendly, so reaching 1M is already an achievement. I have a few quick tries and 1.3M is possible.
Week 231 Mega Gatling Pea Zomboss fight
Thanks to the tips from (itsnogoodforme) from subreddit for reminding me about a frozen mint trick.
I tried it with my level 1 plants and this seems to be able to match the score I get from my high level plants quite consistently.
- @eieio_31310 Nice score for level 1s! Unfortunately i don't have sage and telemine in my level 1 profile.... any replacements?
Thanks @HenryThePear .
Anything which can kill zombies appearing on columns 9 and 8 quickly should be considered. If you do not have the two plants I used, there are a few plants can be used with similar benefits.
1. Snap Pea, it can attack zombies behind zomboss, but at level 1 it is both high sun cost and quite slow so it's usefulness is a little limited if you do not use a sun plant.
2. Conceal-mint, it can help dragging down zombies on the ground but you still have problems with the balloon zombies.
3. Bombard-mint, it strikes at random places, so pray it does not strike at the frozen mint.
4. Enchant-Mint, just hope it hypnotises the strong zombies to fight for you
5. Solar Tomato, stun zombies and generate suns should you go with Snap Pea.
6. Imp Pear + tile turnips
Now if you have $ premium plants, then 7. Power Lily with Imp Pear.
- @eieio_31310 Thanks, I tried Bombard Mint and Enlighten mint after a few tries and it worked well. I am getting above 23M now.
Great now try 24M. 👿
Changing from telepotato Mine over to Conceal-mint last night got me a 24.1M on my first try but I did not take a photo so I know it is possible.
With turbo mode on, currently I can average 23.6M with low being 23.5M and high being 23.7M, just no more 24M+, will give this another try this weekend.
My low
My average
My high
Alas my poor onesies got slaughtered this week but they got me enough Levitater seeds to save me some gems.
VICTORY TO MEEEEE!!!!!!🇬🇧
Wow, I like this Draftodil strategy a lot, might try this with Shrinking Violet instead of Power Lily for my F2P load out.
Thanks for sharing @MAGICDAVESHROOM
I only tried my onesies a few times to get the initial Levitater seeds, i tried different strategies but kept on getting overrun.
I tried draftodil with a few other combos in my high level profile and while it was good against aerial threats, it seemed to slow down the rest of them so limited the score.
Unfortunately my pics are stuck in this phone and i can't post them (again).
Week 235 Zomboss fight week
A strategy for 21M, quite consistent tried 3 practices and all 3 were over 21M. 👿
- @eieio_31310 Nice strat for level 1s. Do you any replacement for solar sage?
Thanks @HenryThePear
Due to high sun cost on level 1 plants, sun producer is required so plants can be placed early, if you do not have Solar Sage, I think the next best thing is to replaced this with Power Lily and use the additional plant food to keep the Appease-mint activated at the early stage (because of lack of attacking plants) and hope this is enough to prevent Zomboss charging and destroy your defense.
Since I have completed 1000 crowns for all of my high level and master profiles, I will be focusing on my onesies.
Below is my best practice so far, I think this should be good for 7-win streaks.
Week 236 Tomb Tangler tournament
I have had a few quick practices with my level 1 plants,
The Appeasemint strategy takes me over 1M but I think there are higher scores with other strategies, will try them out later if time permits.
Hello I'm new. I wanna share my lv1 build. I'm in brick, my highest score is about 650k on this build
Build a lot of sunshroom then use enlighten mint. Slowly build gatling+peavine+torchwood. Use PF on torchwood+peavine
@ljsy2bx0s08j Welcome to the forum.
That is a nice strategy for this hellish (for level 1 plants) tournament, I will give this a try later today and thanks for sharing.
