Strangely, the Bucketheads turn into Coneheads quite fast
With Pokra and Spear-mint instead of Enforce and Ail-mint I got up to 3.5m, got quite some Blockheads too

You need to get into the ice-block head zombie phase. I plant the TTs as far away from each other as possible so that I can imp the next wave. I think 2 TTs could be enough since the third doesn't seem to do anything. It might be better to not put the WWs in PVs. This way you have more sun and you can dig up a WW and plant a new one when a hamster ball appears. I had to use one plant food on WW instead of TT.

Do you have any idea what triggers it?
In the normal tourney it just happens, my guess is if you can keep a steady stream of zombies kills for a certain amount of time

@HypnoDjurre @HenryThePear Usually the ZDL is increased when you kill Zombies fast. It's weird that you don't see ice block zombies. Maybe practice matches are bugged on Android?! I know that @Perfume-shroom92 doesn't see any ice-block zombies either. I don't think I do anything different than you are. I saw Ice block zombies every single game I played. Sometimes they appeared quite late but they always appeared.
@HenryThePear Yep. I saw that during the pre-Boosterama tournament. I was basically screwed when the blockheads appeared...but in the Boosterama practice I see them every single time.

no idea about what loadout I should choose too. without blockheads my score dropped a lot.
I also noticed that there is a Newspaper Zombie when you select your plants...but this one never appeared in my games.
It's a VERY tricky tournament
In the normal one, you want to get to the 3k + 7k stage and hold that without triggering the Blockhead stage
In the Boosterama you REALLY want to trigger the Blockheads and hold that stage
Been practicing A LOT and I still haven't found a reliable way to trigger the Blockheads
altho I'm getting close-ish
Triggered them 5 times now (out of 50 games or so)
Twice I've been completely overrun
Once I managed to survive 2 waves, but my score tanked
Never have I been able to trigger them AND kept them coming, they turn into Bucketheads after 1-2-3 waves max
With WW strategy I also got 3.4m once, frozen spikerocks + Hamsterballz got me quite often
I switched to Pokra + Spear-mint, for me it's a lot more reliable against Hamsterballz and for getting a decent score (3m) and then hope to get some higher scores
One more thing I noticed, at the start, normally 3-5 Bucketheads appear, in the Boosterama sometimes headgear-less zombies appear and then ZDL tanks probably and immediately Coneheads start coming

I agreed with you too,can not find a way to trigger those icehead.my practice scores are all over the place.
I do not get blockhead on the easy win-streaks (1-7), they only starts to appear towards the end of the match on the difficult ones (9-12).
Due the limited time, I have to play in turbo mode and even with high level plants I could only get around 2.3 M average.
I have to admit that @PowerToss has done wonder with his level 1 plants, it even beats my high level profile!
The only difference in plants is your lvl5 Enforce vs my lvl1, but in theory that shouldn't matter

At 1.45 you use a PF
At 1.35 Blockheads appear and you keep them until the end
At 1.15 you use another PF
The best I've done is get Blockheads around 1.20 or so, but they switch back to Buckets, I can never keep them coming

Vines were no penalty free but i noticed in my low scoring matches vine are crushed by hamsterballs.
From Tigerol's tourney thread on Reddit:
"If some Spike fails (frozen/destroyed) then Pyre at C7 is a last defense against Hamsterballz. Hamsterball slows significantly after crushing any plant. Pyre is a defensive plant, so no penalty for losing it. If any Pyre at C7 gets destroyed then it's better to replant it first."
It has been stated multiple times and until this tourney, that's how Vines worked afaik

Those blockheads seem to show up whenever they feel like it, there doesn't seem to be any set trigger for them.
@HypnoDjurre That's correct Vines don't give a penalty. I'm not sure why the ZDL drops but this has been happening in a lot of the past tournaments that there is a ZDL "roller coaster". This might be a good tournament to figure out what else could cause the ZDL to drop.
I always had the feeling that there is a time factor...so if you don't kill Zombies consistently your ZDL can drop. You basically have to keep killing zombies which is not really possible since in this tournament there is a time gab between the chicken waves.
We might be smarter when the tournament is live and be played a couple of games.
