If I only use SPS my score is lower than SPS+DL even tho my SPS is lvl7 and DL 5
But you do need SPS to slow down the newspapers and gargs and 'catch' imps and swashbucklers
Maybe I'll make a video so people can spot what i'm doing wrong
- @HypnoDjurre My shadow pea is level 4 and DL level 6... i have yet to join arena but if a streak score less than 1 million then i will be ok~ I am a very simple creature 😛 i just need enough for a streak 😉 but i would recommend if you are using the shadow strat to plant exactly as fantastix did~ this is because the shadow pea have been positioned to catch all the imps plus pirate zombies, ensuring your DL wouldn't be eaten.
You'll need 1.5m for the winstreak
The weird thing is, my scores are higher even if BBV+MF are eaten in C5
2 pairs of MF = 18 DL
3 pairs = 14 DL
I also tried every permutation of
MF + Reinforce-mint + Infi-Nut/Pumpkin
+ DL+SPS
+ DL/SPS+Conceal-mint
They all give me roughly 2.5m and very very few plants get eaten if any at all
The strategy with MF+DL+SPS+BBV+Conceal gives me 3.5m easily even when 5-10 plants get eaten/destroyed during the whole game
The easiest/most relaxed strategy would be FantastiX lvl3 one I think:

You could give Peanut a whirl.
2m+, once reinforcemint's effect has worn off plant him again and use eon at r3, c9 to blow away weaker zombies.
But it's very easy to run out of sun towards the end as L5 peanut is expensive.
Can't really think of a better strategy for the Boosterama
This one is really fun! I think you can replace PPM but I'm not sure what would be a good replacement.

@PowerToss very nice score, haven't practiced yet, I'm sure it will be tough to beat but a good 8m target to aim for

Some intetesting tactics
From 28m18s it's BB7 (rest is 5) with IP for 9m+
Before that it's Shadow strategy (but with multiple lvl7s) for a max of 7m+
I'm using the Shadow strat with Imp Pear and Ail Mint. Best so far is 6,661.550. Big Pig had a run of 24 before bowing out 5.9 to 7..1. Ouch
Opp used same strat but doubled Imp Pear instead of Ail Mint. I'm using Real Gamer again. Somehow he got 9.1 with same level plants except his Ail was 8. Mine is 7. But it's all plant & uproot Imp Pear then uproot and plant SPS. Not really stressful but constant movement so not boring yet either.
Guess I should have tried harder to upgrade Imp Pear. Just looked at Real Gamers vid again and he's using lvl 8 Pear. Mine is 6. That's a full second of recharge and 100 dps difference. He's also got a 9 SPS and mine's an 8. I've got better DL (9 vs 7) but that doesn't seem to be a factor in my favor. Not sure what the difference in 8 vs 7 Ail Mint is. If it's only 1 second duration that doesn't seem to be enough time to plant an additional Pear. Unless the 2 factors - shorter refresh on Pear combined with added time does mean 1 extra planting. It's the middle of the night and I'm not up for complex math at the moment.
I tried the Shadow strategy, but it lags my phone, too much hassle imo, and the score is not great for me

Still testing a bit if I should plant IP in the back and not let them be eaten or plant in front, but I feel that I'm getting higher scores if I plant on C9 and they're eaten
@HypnoDjurre You have to join Arena. Your Zombies are Soil League level 😛 You will probably break 9M once you joined 😉 You could also try and play it a little more aggressive by planting Pokra on C8 and C7. It worked for me (without BB).
I've been using the Ultomato strategy and the Pokra strategy and get scores ~8M. My score is lower when I use BB instead of Spearmint :/
I tried BB Pumpkin Pokra in practice and got 7.4. Done it twice in Arena now and only getting 6.2. That's what I was getting with Shadow. Perhaps I just need to chill and get in the zone. Probably over excited about kicking major butt and making dumb mistakes. Not having target tile in mind for Pear and hitting occupied tile. Losing the Pokra on R2 because I forget that's where Gargs do most damage. Silly stuff that should work itself out once I'm fully awake.
Quick question about refreshing Pumpkin. When I refresh by just planting on top of Pumpkin that's still got about 1/3 of its life left, it doesn't refresh in armored state. Do I have to wait for it to die or uproot in order to get armored Pumpkin?
Yeah, if you plant on top of a Pumpkin it doesn't get armored up

So I joined the tourney and my scores went
8m - 9.1m - 8m - 8.7m - 8m - 8.5m - 7.8m (I lost to 8.99m) - 8.8m
Aargh, I had attached the 9.1m but the post didn't want to submit and I already deleted all previous screenshots for a general cleanup :D
- @HypnoDjurre Does your pokras survive without Reinforce mint? I will see if I can adapt this strategy 🙂
- @HenryThePear In practice, I used almost the same strat as hypnodjurre but with spearmint. It will survive. You need to be mindful of pumpkin and the various deflections from jester zombies. If you always remember to replant your pumpkin, you will have no problem.
- @HenryThePear Just keep an eye on your pumpkins in R2. Those are the ones that are wearing out.
I’m getting 7 million+ using 3 columns artichoke5, 2 pears4, 2 columns nut6, spearmint7, Ailmint5. I’m not a very good player.
