Well, I'd sure like return of PVZ1 plants, especially pumpkin and cob cannon and PVZ1 zombies.

The Egyptian zone really lacks in zombies imho, yet it was quite very easy zone. They should get something like priest zombie, the tanky (like Wizard) support specialist that will heal zombies all around, even heal buckets, shrine and physical objects. Even if not instantly as that would make it be a bit overpowered yet useless if there multiple priests (although, I wouldn't mind if it heal instantly), it will heal everyone overtime as he walks. That means, priests will be target with priority number 1# to take down. Probably maybe some hypno-intoxicating zombie that would turn offense plants to fight against other plants, just like Hypno-shroom.  Since Egyptian civilization was beyond progressed and developed for it's time and were too much in advanced spiritualism and "occult", it would be nice to have some combat Sorcerer zombie that could throw fireballs and do splash AoE damage to plants, some kind of offense specialist zombie and as tanky as Wizard zombie, even if to balance it, he won't instakill like the Turquoise Skull.

 

Also, I'd like Necromancer zombie for dark ages zone. Some evil-smug face zombie holding book that would be parody of Necronomicon, the can rise graves on ground near him and make zombies rise from graves all at once. If there is already graves, he can make new zombies rise from those to support zombie team.

    A more of a buff really.  I find the magnet shroom to be a bit useless, but something that would be fun is if it catches something, make it so that you can flick the helmet/etc. in any of the 4 directions.  Perhaps have different effects for different objects!

  • Wouldn't call magnet shroom as useless personally, neither underpowered in the slightest. In fact, I found it one of the most overrated and probably overused shrooms that you must depend upon even more than in PVZ 1. I don't like it myself as it revolves around not so interesting gameplay and against no so dense\big horde rush, although it neutralize tanks and special zombies. However, I wouldn't mind a buff anyway, since buff wouldn't harm much of gameplay as the endless rush is already hard enough, especially if that buff evolves around making some boring plant be more interesting as in giving it an extra feature.

    Personally, I would like a new magnet shroom that would absorb ALL sun from everywhere in the game, even if it would cost like 500 sun or more, since when you have 5 lines full of Moonflower, additional gold leaf, AND placed a line full of Magnifying Grass, collecting all of the suns AND fast taping on those Magnifying Grass can be very tedious.

    But the plant that SERIOUSLY needs a buff, is the Lightning Reed plant. Now, that's a true useless plant. Seriously, this is such a joke plant, it's so worthless and obsolete at the same time compared to the rest of plants. It's at the same time quite expensive for what it does. The damage of it is a joke, usefulness is neither anywhere big. It was designed to deal with big horde of enemies or at least be good at doing it so, but nope, it's worst plant to deal even with regular 9.25 point_of_damage_to_kill zombies, especially when they rush in huge massive horde that those Lightning Reed can't overdamage and thus even if you place like 3-4 lines full of Lightning Reed plants, a horde rush of regular 9.25 podtk zombies and\or imps will tank all this and eat all of them easily and thus eat your brain afterward. It's so bad, it's literally worse than peashooter, a plant you get in the very beginning of the game for free!!! Sure, it was added specifically to deal with Chicken Wrangler Zombie, but that's is pretty much the ONLY thing this thing is good for!! I don't think any of the plants should be good against the ONLY ONE zombie. But even then, it's not even the best plant to deal with Chicken  Wrangler Zombies!! In endless survivoval, even if you place 3 lines full of Lightning Reed, there will be so damn many chickens (there were like 10 Chicken Wrangler Zombie per lane) that those lightning reeds wouldn't able to 'chain-lightning' them all as there only like 3-4 chain-lightning maximum and then it's just doesn't chain-lightning the rest of zombies, thus chickens break the defence and eat through all of the plants and catch to your brains. This is why you either use AoE attacks like melons, laser beans or just spike weed that will help deal with all chickens and chicken wrangler zombies, YET being MUCH more useful at other things, too. Also, there is similar enemy to Chicken Wrangler which is Weasel Hoarder, but even against a single Weasel Hoarder zombie the lightning reed is just too damn weak to deal with it's weasels as they are much more tanky than the chickens, while not tanky enough to die from a single spikeweed (which is weaker than spikerock, but still powerful enough to deal with weasels) in lane. So if there is like 3-5 of those Weasel Hoarder zombies at the same time, even 2 lines full of Lightning Reel would not be enough to deal with ALL of the weasels at the same time. That's just how bad the lightning reed is!! The argument that it can catch a single enemy from 3 lanes is not a really an excuse for it to have crappy damage, it's seriously needs real buff. It either should have infinite chain-lightning ability so one lightning reed would harm ALL of the nearby zombies, so it would even be useful in endless surivoval with +100 zombies in vision (or +1000 zombies per wave, as those waves tend to be short anyway) and\or buff it to deal less of a joke damage, i.e. 1 point_of_damage per direct hit, and 0.5 per chain-lightning, so this way it wouldn't such a worthless obsolete joke plant. OR, drop it's price to just 50 suns and add new plant that is similar to Lightning Reed and cost same 125 suns, but would just be as powerful as the buffs I've suggested about. Maybe cost even 175 suns, if both infinite chain-lightning and damage BUFF would apply at the same time. It makes no sense why a plant you obtain from the mission that cost MORE sun is still weaker than peashooter, which is pretty much just a beginners plant that you shouldn't use later in the game, except just for lulz. This Lightning Reed plant is so beautiful, interesting, original, unique and is so fun to have in your lane, and the zapping sound of zombies are so exciting! But it's so worthless that you wouldn't ever want to use. EVER. Even if you love lightning a lot. This is why I'm so passionate about this.

    OMG!! So much agree with Lightning Reed plant, I found it to be the most underpowered and close to worthless plant in game. It looks cool and have nice idea of zombie horde damage, but it's so weak it's literally pointless and this makes this plant useless. It needs a massive buff, make it do at least 1 damage per direct hit and 0.5 of damage per each chain lightning. As for magnet shroom, I'd like a magnet that would attract any type of useful item, not just sun. Like, return of Gold Magnet plant, but now it can magnet suns too, since diamonds and coins are extremely rare now, compared to PVZ1. It's not like we will get Giant Marigold as a plant, unfortunatelly...

    I really agree that Lightning Reed is severely underpowered and needs a huge buff. It looks so great, yet you won't ever pick it up because it's just too worthless. Currently, it has no use whatsoever, at all. I really love the ideas of MaxRideWizardLord, especially to make it do 1 damage for direct hit and chain lightning do 0.5 damage, and have infinite chaining. But seeing how weak this plant is regardless, I would love this without increasing the sun cost. So unlike in his idea, I don't want to increase it's sun cost if both infinite chaining and damage increase being added. Although, wouldn't mind if new version of plant that is similar to Lightning Reed being added in game that would act like lightning reed, but do 1 damage for direct hit and 0.5 for chaining and could do endless chaining for all zombies, but still will cost 125 sun, AND the current weak lightning reed sun cost would drop to just 50, so weak lightning reed still would be used in those bejeweled side-quests.

    Also, please give Snapdragon better animation for killing sombies. After all, it breaths flames, so why won't those flames burn zombies to death like Jalapeno, plant-food-boosted Fire Peashooter and Jack O' Lantern ? That would make Snapdragon plant so much more fun to use!

    I agree a LOT with maxridewizard that lightning reed is seriously underpowered and in need of a buff. In current condition, it has absolutely no practical use and outclassed pretty much by any other plant. It needs a huge buff to be even considered to be used again. in fact, I would love if it gain infinite continuity of lightning chaining AND did 1 damage for direct hit and 0.5 for each chain lightning, yet it still keep 125 sun price; or adding a new very similar plant that would do exact same thing as I just described for 125 sun price, but lower sun price of lightning reed to 50. That way this plant would get more love and use, could even be used in endless survival mode as well.

    I also would love if snapdraggon could burn zombies to death with it's fire. I mean, it's fires afterall. Burning animation (just like zapping one) is so satisfying and pleasing to watch. However, I found this plant lack in power a little. Maybe some underpowered too indeed. I'd really appreciate if the snapdragon could do at least 2 point of damage instead of 1.5 per breath, that would make it fair and more balanced. Afterall, we have the cold snapdraggon, which is just buffed and upgraded snapdraggon that is better in everything and as well can slower down enemies in 3 tiles, plus food boost is just upgraded version of normal snapdragon; all this just makes normal snapdragon absolulely obsolete compared to cold snapdragon.

    Let's see what cold snapdragon can do better than normal snapdragon and what he's "worse" at - Pros: extinguish fuses unlike snapdragon that lit them on fire again, extinguish torches unlike snapdragon that lit them on fire again, cannot be frozen in the Ice Age timezone unlike snapdragon, and obviously slower down enemies like 2 times if not more by making by freezing them while having exact same damage as snap dragon (1.5 points), exact same range of fire as snapdragon, and exact same fire rate ( which makes it similar) Damage Per Second as snapdragon, yet cost 150 sun price to plant just like normal snap dragon, plus the plant food attack is faster than the one from regular snapdragon and do exact same amount of damage as the regular snapdragon, BUT YET it also completely immobilizes zombies that have just too much hp to be killed from one plant food attack like Gargantuar and freeze them in the ice rock, so you can just finish them off with regular icy breaths; Cons: absolutely none.

    As you can see, the cold snapdragon is just straight upgraded, buffed, completely harmless (unlike regular snapdragon that lit fuses\torches\etc back again AND making all freezing zombies back unfrozen and fast again) and overall better snapdragon in every possible way. Yet, regular snapdragon is not that powerful to be worth of use anyway. While regular is not as underpowered as lightning reed, regular snapdragon is still needs some love and buff too. So 2 points of damage per breath instead of 1.5 sounds pretty reasonable; although it still would be less useful than cold snapdragon, but at least it could have at least one reason to be used and choosen over cold snapdragon to begin with.

    Yeah I agree, Snapdraggon needs a buff too. It's absolutely obsolete compared to cold Snapdraggon, there is literally nothing better snapdraggon can do than cold snapdraggon, and by itself is quite weak when compared to the rest of plants. I still like to use it sometimes just because of how cool it looks, although I understand it's a bad strategic choise most of the time. I'd even say he need at least to do 2.5 damage per breath, considering his short range, this way he actually could be useful and even match to cold snapdragon, which could make them be equal. Thus, if you have cold Snapdraggon, you would choose either based on situation.

    Now that I think about it, 2.5 damage sounds really reasonable and quite well balanced for such low range plant for such price. That would as well balance it with cold snapdragon that is straight upgrade in current stance. So you would choose, plant that doesn't freeze, can freeze and slow down anything in front of it, extinguish things, etc, but do less damage; or you can use normal snapdraggon for more damage and awesome burning animation, but can light up on fire torches and tnt and as well kinda all frozen zombies back to full speed.

    So for the buff list we have here Magnet Shroom, to making it throw objects it magnet for some damage. Serious buff and improvement to Lightning Reed to make it do 1 damage for direct hit instead of 0.5, chain lightning do 0.5 damage instead of 0.25 and make it have infinite chaining. Snap Dragon to make it do 2.5 damage and burn enemies in to ashes. So far I do agree with these buff suggestions, but mostly for Lightning Reed and Snap Dragon as these plants feel quite weak. The upgrade for Magnetic Shrrom just sound like interesting thing to have though, while I can't really say it's super underpowered like the two above mentioned.

    A few ideas for plants:

    Bash-ew or Bash-you - a cashew that whacks zombies with a hammer.

    Pistolachio - a pistachio that shoots zombies with a pistol.

    How about a JESTNUT- a wallnut type plant that hits zombies with a balloon on a stick.
    I don't agree with lightning reed needing an upgrade as it's benefits outweigh it's disadvantages.
    Mine is currently at level 3 and i still rate it (i usually have it in adventure mode but not on battlez).
    I think the point of battlez is to do the best you can with what youve got.
    Shame it's run by EA (who seem to be trying to squeeze as much money out of pvz2 as possible).
    I'll probably get into trouble for saying that but i felt someone should say it.
    I'm currently 4th in the silver league and I'm holding my own using plants wiith a total experience value of 20 (just upped one from level 2 to 3).

    So... here they are:

    Camo Zombie

    Can not be seen by normal Plants

    normal speed

    weaknesses: Sniper Trufle

    Night Vision Zombie

    Has Nightvision goggles on.  (Might not fit the time period)

    Can see though Bushes

    (there are usually 2x extra of these guys) 

     

    Soldier Bully Zombie

    pushes World War Z Cannons out farther

    oh... and the Sniper Trufle shoots two rock things out at a time in two lanes

    A suggestion for power mint plants

    (all the credits go to @Humplemann & @MAGICDAVESHROOM as they mention it in another topic)

    So far, we only have fila-mint, and probably soon reinforcement-mint.
    The issues with fila-mint are that it takes ages to recharge (60s at level 10!) making it totally useless in Battlez, since it takes the spot of another plant & can be use only twice, and not really interesting in Adventure mode.
    In the end, I'm not sure that many players are really using it, which is a shame since it was supposed to a novelty that would change a bit the gameplay.

    Likely, reinforcement-mint will probably be useless in Battlez for the same reasons.

    So, why not changing the way of using power mint plants ?

    Instead of choosing them with our other regular plants, we could have one extra slot just for power mint plants.
    So, you would not waste a spot, and people would actually use them in Adventure mode and in Battlez.
    Further more, it would add another layer of tactic to the gameplay. If you have just one spot for power mint plants, you would have to think carefully, which power mint is the best for one level ? Which power mint is the best for your Battlez match ? etc.

    I think it would be also good for Battlez mode in general. If power mint plants are not that good (well I think that reinforcement mint is better than fila but I don't know how good it can be in Battlez), there will be probably less players playing hard to get mint to improve power mint plants.
    So less players in Battlez
    -> less gems used for gauntlets
    -> less money used for gems & less ads watched for gauntlets/gems
    ->So finally less money for EA.

    In the end imo, having an extra slot for power mint plants would be better for the gameplay in general, for players, for Battlez mode but also for EA.
  • Reinforcemint has already been made useless in my book because mecha football and barrel rolling zombies (and possibly others) destroy it's force field with 1 touch. Most of the ideas bbnot8 suggested were mooted months ago on this forum and we ended up with this buffz and bruisez rubbish.( cr*p name as well).

    If you go through the old posts you'll see a large proportion of posts complaining about missing rewards so nothing has really changed. I'm not against mint plants as such it's just that they are usually ineffective and cost too much to buy and upgrade as mints are hard to come by if you're a beginner. A much better system would be to replace mints with crowns so your weekly total of crowns could be used instead of mints which would encourage people to play.

    Old mints and their seed packets should be put in the store so new players have access to them and experienced players can upgrade them.

    EA are really annoying the FINGERofDOOM!!!  Lately.

    One thing that would make everyone's life easier would be if we didn't have to keep on having to tap to select a plant then place it then back again. We should be able to select a plant then place it repeatedly until we tap on a different plant to change it.

    Save a lot of time and tapping.

    I have a plant idea.

    Spinecone 
    Sun cost: 175
    Toughness: 2500
    Range: 1 tile in every direction
    Basically a beatroot and endurian combined.
    Description: Looks like a Pinecone.
    Effect: When zombies get near it attacks every 1-2 seconds. Could have a small piercing effect. When zombies start eating it it starts to damage them a bit like the endurian but less damage.
    Plant food: makes a column of spines up down left and right and starts spinning in circles.
