I found it strange that this week Blover is greyed out while Caulipower is not.
The new Arma-mint seems to make the Coconut cannon more active, but to make it effective for Battlez, I guess you will need to have it upgraded to level 5 or above.
This week's Arma-mint Battlez is a low scoring one for low level plants. I have not even break the 200K mark yet with level 1 plants.
For mid level plants I am still trying to break to 500K mark. How are you all doing?
After playing three matches that I barely won against Max level, or no sun producing plant opposition, I'm taking a break from Battlez for the week.
This week's tournament is a nightmare in its own right, without having things compounded by the EA/Popcap killer bots, so I'm spending the time gathering up the free gauntlets and gems while waiting, and hoping, for a more sensible/playable/enjoyable match setup next week.
I've watched several matches posted by Youtubers and the common theme seems to be one of often being swamped by massive hordes of nearly indestructable zombies and/or opposition with highly suspect scores relative to their plant loadouts.
Where's the pleasure in that? When the matches get like that it sucks all the fun out of playing, so I'm quite content to sit back and drop back a league into Silver.
I only ended up in Gold by accident in the first place. I tend to aim to finish each week in 4th/5th place, but got caught out by the server failure. I was in third place in Silver and tied on crowns with the player beneath me. I intended to not play any more matches so they would overtake me, but the internet failure meant they couldn't play either and I was promoted!!!
The player currently at the top of my individual Gold league has a grand total of 68 crowns. I have 15 crowns and am at position 13, where I intend to stay. I think that is an indicator that people just aren't enjoying this week's setup and many are doing the same as me.
I have noticed the same with the players in my group, normally to get to the top 5 on Friday, I would need over 300 crowns and 450+ for top 3. This week I got to top 5 with less than 100 and that is saying something.
I think everyone enjoys a challenge. . . But there are challenges and CHALLENGES.
Challenges comprise of some trial and error while finding a winning strategy that will then carry you through the rest of the weekly tournament. (Possibly with a few minor tweaks to refine your initial setup and how your build patterns develop during matches.)
CHALLENGES comprise trial and error while attempting to find a strategy that will hopefully allow you to triumph over the joint threats of a near impossible arena and opponents that leave you thinking "WTH". (Or even "WTF!!!")
This week qualifies as a CHALLENGE and, at least to me, has been taken way too far.
I know it's technically the same amount for everyone, but 250 starting sun!! REALLY!! That ridiculously low amount immediately plays into the hands of players with Max level plants. (Again.) Their plants are cheaper, stronger, inflict higher damage, and regenerate much faster. This leaves lower level players constantly trying to play catch up and failing more often than not. (This is before you even take into account opponents who seemingly need no sun while achieving monster scores.)
EA/Popcap are saying they have got on top of the cheating, but thus far I'm finding that if anything the problems have escalated.
I saw somebody saying somewhere (Reddit?) that if the cheaters HAVE been dealt with as EA/Popcap are claiming, then the worsening situation HAS to be entirely down to THEIR dodgy replays and killer bots.
I'm not prepared to put my hard earned reward streak at risk under such circumstances. If I lose to a genuine opponent, it's disappointing. BUT losing to a 'Ringer' is another matter entirely.
It seems to me that, irrespective of claims to the contrary, EA/Popcap continue to play us along with suspect tactics aimed at bleeding us dry of gems so we'll purchase even more. It doesn't matter how skilled you are when confronted with an AI opponent that's set up to initially track your score and to then beat you. The only thing that MIGHT carry you through is to do whatever it takes to give your score a heavy boost in the final few seconds of a match, so your 'opponent' doesn't have sufficient time to hit back before the bell goes.
Having to do that extracts all the fun from Battlez matches, and I like to have fun while playing. This week's tournament is a chore that's like banging your head against a brick wall, and I don't enjoy doing that.
Both your league and mine would seem to indicate that particular sentiment is pretty widespread among human players.
A while back pvz2 crashed when i was on the verge of getting into jade league and i had to restart from soil.
I set myself a challenge of being the top player in every league consecutively.
I achieved this (NO.1) in every league from soil to last week (including both parts of the 2 part challenge) and am currently no.1 in jade, or am i?
I kept screenshots of the results and by my count have won 649 and lost 68.
When i started dusk lobber was L2 and now is L4. I played up to 6 freeplays a day plus the 2 free gauntlets and bought more with my winnings.
As time passed i found out that i wasn't always playing a person but carried on because i was number 1. At the moment I'm still number 1 in jade league but how many jade leagues are there?
I've seen a utube video posted by a player i respect showing his jade league table and it bears no resemblance to mine.
I once posted the question "how many active players are there?" When i should have been asking "how many leagues are there?".
I rather naively thought i was the current world champion, being NO.1 in jade league, the Premier League of pvz2.
SO HOW MANY JADE LEAGUES ARE THERE?
There are many groups of 15 players in a league.
So when you come top, you are top of your group (of 15) and not the whole league in the world - let's hope this news will not shatter your world domination dreams (too much 👿 ).
It was stated in 2013 that there were 25,000,000 downloads of Plants vs Zombies 2. There have undoubtedly been many more since then.
If for arguments sake we say that the total is now 40,000,000. If we also say that just 10% of those players retained the game and 30% of those are participating in Battlez. That means 1,200,000 Battlez players.
We have 8 leagues - Soil, Wood, Brick, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Jade. If we assume that the 1,200,000 players are divided equally between those leagues, that means 15,000 players in each league. Divide 15,000 by 15 and that gives 1000 sub leagues in each catagory.
Using this basic rule of thumb, you are one of one thousand players currently holding top position in Jade league.

I've only been playing pvz2 since April and knew nothing about it except that it was the sequel to pvz, a game that still gives me enjoyment without
charging me a fortune for the privilege.💷💳💸💰
This week we have a weird combo of zombies to defeat , the highest I have managed to score is 370K. Also the blower is out again so I guess they will keep it out until the patch the game so that the blower does work with chart. It was a great way to score points without using premium plants.
This is a low score week for players with low level plants.
I tried many games last weekend and I could only just managed to break 200K.

So this week is near its end. After playing many weeks’ Battlez especially Jade League, I find these recently week quite a challenge but I like it.
I think the best strategy is quickly finding a good combo and score as much as possible at the beginning of the week. As in my case, I can manage a streak of 8-9 matchs but at the end I can only manage 5-6 winnings in a row.

I believe EA uses many bots in Battlez. Here’s a victory of mine against another player that I believe it was manipulated by bots. When I tried that player’s plant selection I could only score a half of his score.
About top leaders, this week my top table leader scores over 600 crowns now and he may reach 700 marks at the end. I will battle for 3-4th place (may be 4th place) as I intend to collect all prizes in Jade league in order to compare to other leagues’ prizes. (I now have 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th place already)
I did managed to break 500K after a few more attempts last weekend but did find the difference between games varied hugely. The same set up and same game play sometimes only achieved less than half of my best score.
There is a very strong evident the bots are hard at work this week they tend to break many streaks -- does not matter what your scores are.
For me, it used to be any games with gauntlet(s) as a reward but now this has been changed to mint(s).
So with low level plants, I found I have a high chance of losing the streaks in game 3, 7 and 10.
This week's new Battlez is with Escape Root.
The main challenge is to get a good score in a very short time -- 1:30!
Guess this is EA's plan to encourage/enable players to do more battlez. 👿
I have had a few attempts and only managed to get 170K, I think 200K is achievable but would not put too much hope on 250K with my level 1 plants.
@badbee34 This has been for a while now. I guess some Battlez depends on luck more than players skills.
@MAGICDAVESHROOM 250 crowns requires at least 50 games, this is quite good considering it has only been running for 16 hours. I have my second session and managed to break 300K (i even surprise myself!)

I finished no.1 in EVERY league (including the 2 day challenge) before finding out there are many jade leagues, how many only EA know and they seem very reluctant to tell me.

I thought it was a very impressive achievement right until the moment it was pointed out to me that there are MANY JADE LEAGUES out there and instead of being THE NUMBER ONE OF THE highest league i was A number one of probably 15 people and i don't even know how many actual people are in this league or are they just bots?
