Stuck in almanac

I’m currently stuck in the almanac because it wants me to upgrade a plant but it is grayed out and so won’t let me upgrade it but it also won’t let me exit out. Not sure if anyone can help me w...

This is an old bug that I have seen quite a few times. It seems to happen with players starting a fresh game.
If you have not got months of progress to worry abot, maybe you can try re-installing the game and see if the bug is cleared.

I’ve reinstalled the game as well as downloaded it and tried playing with multiple devices, but I keep getting this same exact result.
