Use of candy mints?
Previously we used earned candy mints towards leveling up the main (?) mint for each of the plant groups (offered for a week or more), but that seems to have been replaced with using gems to level up...

Currently we are having the Champions Season (and without new plants being available) so the shop offers are different.
I think (and hope) normal shop offers will return with the next Mangofier tournament.
