Can't delete a player (or profile)

I accidentally clicked below my last player name, and PVZ2 automatically created a new profile. This has happened to me in the past. I'd just type some random letters for the "name" so I could get past that screen, and then delete it. No big deal. Well, now I can't delete this extra player, and it's taking up memory space. I assumed it was a temporary issue and the next update would allow me to delete, but now I can't update because I don't have enough memory space. (I am playing on an older device.) How can I delete these extra players (it happened more than once) from my device?
