Plants vs Zombies 2 recent update will not complete install

I updated PvZ2 and it stalls at the Patches install screen.  I am on my iPhone 16 which is up to date. What is the issue?  How do you or I fix this so I can play the game?  I don't dare install the update on another device if it will not properly load.

    Had a similar experience, but once the update actually went through, the game is now riddled with bugs.  Being cheated out of jewels, gauntlets and games.  Don’t understand why this is crashing so spectacularly. Frustrated doesn’t even cut it because there doesn’t seem to be an efficient way to report bugs or receive technical support.
