A way to be idle in-game and not lose quest status?

Hi,

so I might be missing something but here's what I would like to do:

- take on a single player quest,

- start the quest,

- while the quest in progress, leave the game for a while (idle)

- and then be able to jump right back in.

Currently, what happens is:

- I leave the game with the options menu opened (hoping it works as a "pause"),

- and when I come back I get a message saying that my connection to EA servers is terminate due to inactivity,

- and I'm back to the home base and have to select the quest from scratch.

I'm playing on Playstation 5. I'm not really interested in any multiplayer modes as I'm purely a fan of single player games.

Did I choose the wrong game? Or am I doing something wrong?
