[ANNOUNCEMENT] Plants vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville Anticheat Update

Greetings seedlings!

As we continue to work to create a safe and fair experience for all players, we will be rolling out an update for PvZ Battle for Neighborville on April 18, 2024 at 10AM PT / 5PM UTC to transition PvZ Battle for Neighborville for PC over to EA Anticheat

We expect up to four (4) hours of downtime for this update to rollout to all players, and during this maintenance window, online access will be unavailable.

Once the update has finished, ensure your game is updated and hop back in to take care of those zombies.

Thanks for your patience and for continuing the fight for Neighborville.

  • @EA_Shepard I really wish the issues with EA Anti-Cheat in PvZ GW2 could be addressed before adding it to more games.
EA Anti-Cheat in GW2 brought nothing but harm so far. Slower loading time, worse performance and it doesn't actually stop any of the cheating. It literally got bypassed within like 30 minutes of the update releasing.
  • Will there be a unban wave like in GW2? Many players, have their account with an invalid grandmaster rank (the maximum is 115, while the exploit sets it to -1,500,000+), which prevents them from accessing the game.

  • If this update is like the GW2 update, the stats exploit will still be possible along with any form of existing cheat.

  • Replacing a semi-functional anticheat with one that does nothing but degrade the experience for normal players is a pretty strange decision.

  • Are the stat exploits used by hackers to manipulate other players' levels and prevent them from accessing the games fixed in the upcoming update? It seems like more players are being affected by hacks and unable to access the game. Thanks
