I think I read on the reddit some time back that you can destroy one with husk hop.

Is there a way to get it for us that wasnt around when he sold it last time?
Or do I have to hope for luck, or wait like 6 months until the item appears in the cycle of stuff ?

Are you thinking of Arcane Enigma perhaps? Lotus only lasts for less than ten seconds and reduces movement speed to about half. It's terrible for escaping.
