Battle Chest Guide - Weirding Woods!
Hey everyone,
Hi there. Hope you're all having a nice day! In this thread I will be giving my personal tips on successfully completing the Battle Chests in Weirding Woods, for both the main and the side objectives. Each Battle Chest has different difficulties, which I will also go through. I will explain the difficulty, bonus objective and the game mode of each battle chest, as well as the rewards you receive for completing the battle chest/s. The main objective of them are to win them, which I will explain briefly as well. I'm going to get started now, without further ado.
Battle Chest 1: Rise of the Acorns.
Difficulty: Casual.
Game mode: Vanquish Confirmed!
Bonus Objective: Vanquish 10 Acorns or Oaks.
Reward for Completing Bonus Objective: 3,000 coins and 10 marshmallows.
The bonus objective wants you to vanquish 10 or more Acorns and Oaks that appear in one match of this battle chest. Any vanquish you get will count towards this challenge as Acorns and Oaks are the only enemies in this battle chest. Enemies include Acorns and Oaks.
- Oaks and Acorns tend to team-up with each other. Use Electric Slide if you want the arcing electricity effect, or use Crater Maker or Rocket Ride if you intend to vanquish the Oaks with the Acorns on top. You can get many vanquishes this way.
- Acorns have low health but Oaks are easy to hit. Use both of these things to your advantage.
- Shared vanquishes count, stick with allies when you can.
- Using a character that is durable such as Super Brainz is ideal as you can get vanquishes with relative ease, and you are less likely to be vanquished even if multiple enemies are attacking you.
- Use the Fearless upgrade if using an Attack character.
Battle Chest 2: Tree Overwatch.
Difficulty: Normal.
Game mode: Gnome Bomb.
Bonus Objective: Vanquish 3 Torchwoods.
Reward for Completing Bonus Objective: 4,000 coins and 10 marshmallows.
The bonus objective wants you to vanquish 3 or more torchwood bosses that appear throughout the match. Enemies include Torchwoods (boss) and Acorns/Oaks (can't remember if there are other enemy types or not?).
- Torchwoods (boss) appear throughout this match, so be on the lookout for them.
- Shared vanquishes count, and you don't need to deal very much damage in order to get a shared vanquish on them. However, you won't get the vanquish unless the boss actually gets vanquished so deal as much damage as you can.
- Using abilities that deal immense damage, such as Rocket Ride and Crater Maker, is really useful against the bosses.
- Try and vanquish enemy heroes first because they may be annoying while you try to vanquish Torchwoods.
- Use cover if needed.
- As this is Gnome Bomb, the bosses tend to stick near the Plants side of the map. Look there for the Torchwoods.
- If you cannot see any Torchwoods, run around the map until you find one.
Battle Chest 3: Outnumbered.
Difficulty: Normal.
Game mode: Team Vanquish.
Bonus Objective: Survive for 1 minute.
Reward for Completing Bonus Objective: 5,500 coins and 10 marshmallows.
The bonus objective wants you to avoid being vanquished for 1 minute or longer. There are multiple different enemy types, and you only have a couple of teammates in this battle chest, so be cautious.
- Until you get this challenge, use a character with one of the following stats: high health, lots of mobility or self-heal capabilities. You are less likely to be vanquished if you use these to your advantage.
- Hide at the start of the game for 1 minute, near your spawn perhaps, and use cover as well. Perhaps if you're a Pirate you could use your Parrot Pal?
- At the start of the match, stay far away from enemies and keep your distance, if enemies approach then run away and move somewhere else to attack or hide.
- Don't fight enemies if there are more than 1 enemy attacking you, or if your health is low. Once you get the challenge though, do whatever. You've achieved it after all!
Battle Chest 4: Suburbinating Chompers.
Difficulty: Hard.
Game mode: Suburbination.
Bonus Objective: Control all 3 points simultaneously.
Reward for Completing Bonus Objective: 7,500 coins and 10 marshmallows.
The bonus objective wants you to control all 3 of the Suburbination points at one time, even if only for a really short amount of time. Enemies include Chompers.
- Use characters with lots of mobility. You want to make haste when you capture a point, to get to another and quickly capture that one as well.
- Engineer is an excellent choice for this challenge, he has a lot of mobility (Double Time, Hard Target etc.) and hard counters chompers, which are the only enemy type in this game mode. Stun the chompers if they get close or try to burrow you. Use Heavy Helpers to help defend objectives.
- Go to attempt to capture or recapture places that your team is not at. Keep an eye out for Chompers, try not to let them get close to you.
- Remember, you only need to have all 3 points at once for a short time. Go all out with your attacks and abilities to get all of the points! Remember you can contest the objectives even while invincible!
Battle Chest 5: Champions of the Forest.
Difficulty: Crazy!
Game mode: Team Vanquish.
Bonus Objective: Vanquish 5 Champions.
Reward for Completing Bonus Objective: 10,000 coins and 10 marshmallows.
The bonus objective wants you to vanquish 5 or more enemies throughout one match of this battle chest, who are all champions. All enemies are Champions, and there are multiple enemy types.
- Shared vanquishes count so stick alongside your team when you can.
- Things that do high damage are favoured as you will almost always get (at a minimum) shared vanquishes as a result.
- When enemies cluster, use abilities that are effective in groups in order to deal more damage to them.
- Consider what upgrades you are using when going to attempt this challenge.
As of trying to win these Battle Chests, if the modes are:
Vanquish Confirmed!, deny and collect any orbs you come across.
Gnome Bomb, then do your best to defend any gardens that the gnome bomb gets placed on and defuse any bombs that get placed on your tombstones.
Team Vanquish, then vanquish, revive and heal as much as possible. Scientists are good for all this, and Steam Blaster is even better for vanquishes if you manage to get close to enemies.
Suburbination, then attempt to have all points captured at once and try and recapture points that your team lose.
That's it for now. I hope that this guide helped some players! 🙂
From @TheSprinter85 !
I was struggling on the last one. (a long long time ago) Until I realized there was an AI space cadet, and I'm pretty sure you get the health of the champion. The space cadet should automatically join when your in space station. Just another tip to add to @TheSprinter85 's list.
