- stukapooka6 years agoLegend@DoomEternalHype I agree with this on a spiritual level the gardenator looks so out of place. Gw1 had my favorite garden while gw2 had the better graveyard. I miss the common plant and zombification of certain areas so you could tell who controlled them in bfn wr have generic factory 1 and co plus zombie areas looking so clean and untouched bothers me.
I still subscribe to the theory (though perhaps far fetched) that BFN is in fact a prequel to GW1 and GW2. It makes everything easier to digest in terms of all of the "creative" decisions they made for this game and could help explain the fact that maybe neither side in BFN has claimed any territory yet.
- stukapooka6 years agoLegend@TiltedPixel Except the game says its a sequel ( You're telling me the zombie warmachine from Gw2 that could travel through time and builds giant robots in futuristic factories was stopped because of a bell shaped glass jar really?) The gw2 classes would have no right to be there and bfn classes missing in gw1 would be suspicious. I do get where you're coming from man it feels like they threw this game together in less than a years time and decided hey lets make a spinoff that dosent even change the freaking gameplay formula like spinoffs are suppose to ( its gw with a new artstyle and slightly changed mechanics), removed or downgraded every gamemode, and maps dont feel like they belong in this universe ( a trex skeleton but I thought we had chomper rex as seen in gw2 alongside no real zombieish areas.)
- @DoomEternalHype Aesthetic seems fine to me. Better than GW2's aesthetic at least.
Nah, but BFN is designed to be more bold and out there. It isn't a sequel, and it doesn't copy its predecessors which I like. It shows a bold move on PopCap's part to create more inginuitive designs and mechanics. The core of the franchise is still present. Don't hate to this game. Give it a chance, it is really amazing
- stukapooka6 years agoLegend@Shadowphinx101 How is it bold or not copying its predeccesors, every gamemode but turf was downgraded, battle arena and pve are the only real new additions to the franchise but even then they aren't really doing anything to grab a players attention and get old real fast(we also sacrificed private matches), legendary upgrades are just discount variants that you have to beat a timegate or grind to get, melee hit reg and connection is still awful with constant disconnects, coins are worthless, content comes at a snails pace and falloff still hasnt been added, and its still recycling music from gw1 and 2.
You don't understand, LOADS of things are different. Character designs, backstory etc. The game has come a long way and it will continue. Give it a try
- stukapooka6 years agoLegend@Shadowphinx101 How did the backstory change for the better? We don't even know who these characters are or why they fight in bfn unlike gw1 and 2 where every class and variant had lore behind them in the almanac. Character design dosent make a game good they have to be actually fun and balanced as well and i'd argue imp and corn look worse than their previous versions. I want to like bfn I really do but for everything I do like there's something I just cant stand in the game.
OK, what is bad about BFN then.
- stukapooka6 years agoLegend@Shadowphinx101 Connection issues with green ping resulting in constant disconnects, heck some people cant even play the game! Ops is a shell of its former self with baby mode difficulty and little enemy and ally diversity that they promise to fix but why was it a shell in the first place? Map design is just straight up bad for a lot of the maps being filled to the brim with chokepoints and playing like 2fort and dustbowl straight out of tf2 ( oh boy I thought time park was bad) with only preserve pastures and goopy gully having a solid design, 8v8 normal map gamemodes, some classes are straight up garbage when put against other classes, pve areas have no replay value at all when completed, a long *** grind that is the only way to get new cosmetics are items because the reward o tron has little content that shows no sign of being refilled causing coins to become worthless besides buying wizard, balance is incredibly one sided with zombies steamrolling plants atm, and for me personally why remove custom private matches, a highly demanded request from gw1 was to have the option to play with bots which was added in gw2 but removed in bfn only to have battle chests that limit players optiins with built in rules for how they play. I hope popcap turns bfn around but right now its just extremely dissapointing for me and if I had known it would be like this I probably wouldn't have bought it for founders.
