BfN; random/persistent black screen at start 2 diff. PC

Hello guys!

So, I bought 2 BfN for 2 of my sons. Left me a bit unhappy and them frustrated.

It is like rolling a dice if the game starts. Most often not (>90%). Sometimes it helps to restart computer, sometimes it helps to close the black window (left/upper half) on the screen, go to the task manager, close the still in the background working BfN-task and reopen it.

Happens on 2 devices, one is a laptop, one a tower. GardenWarfare works fine. Actually I can´t open it at the laptop (even son played it 2h ago). Should not be an issue with the hardware as all other games work fine (the PC is an GTX950 GPU/i5-54xx CPU; 4 or 8GB) and as it works fine if started I guess I can exclude this.

Tried it with starting Origin as admin (no effect), disable avast/antivirus (no effect). I think I did close discord on one (no effect).

I will perhaps try to run the game on one of the other 2 PC (mine and the one of the oldest son who has an GTX1660Super now), but this can´t be a solution (even if it would work). Read some topics here about it and this seems unsolved so far.

Would appreciate a proper solution. Life is too short trying half an hour in order to get started a game.

Happy xmas anyway

  • @Mousemaki Hello

    At first:

Check if your device meets the hardware requirements.

Check if your drivers are up to date.

    Then try this steps:

    •Clear Origin Cache

    •Clean Boot

    •Close Background Apps

Try to start Windows in clean boot mode.

It can be AntiCheat error too. To fix that you need to follow these steps:

    1. Go to the folder where you instaled the game then the \PVZ Battle for Neighborville\EasyAntiCheat
    2. Open EasyAntiCheat_Setup
    3. Choose "picnic" and run a repair.
    4. Then try launching your game and see if anything changes.

If the tips above don't work, try reinstalling Game and Origin.

I hope it'll help with solving your problem.

    Hello @CapitanRoyon ,

Hardware/drivers are fine [my home is not my castle but the all_day_lan_party of my 3 sons and their friends ^ ^].

CleanBoot and background apps done: no effect

Made the Origin-chache clean. This helped at the laptop (can´t test it on the tower because - you know.... don´t disturb kids playing ^^).

So thank you. Hope it will help at the other computer a well and I don´t need to do this every day, what might happen(?) as they played it this morgning and in the afternoon it didn´t work.

Even they might have played it and did go away without closing the game so that the computer and/or laptop was going into sleep mode/idle. Is it possible that this confused the game?

    Thx and merry christmas

    regards

  • OK - tested it on the other computer, only origin-cache cleared [closed Origion and cleared cache, reopended and didn´t work]. Didn´t work at first try, but after restarting the computer.
