Brothers gnomus

Four Giga gnome brothers are trying to take over time park. Zombies will prove their superiority by beating them.

November 24th til 27th, 2016, later returning from March 2nd to 5th, 2017, returning again from June 29 - July 2, 2017, returning once again from August 28th to September 5th, 2018, and once again from January 23rd to 28th, 2019.

Zombies must lure them out with a gnomish contraption. What sets this fight apart from others is that you are exclusively fighting gnomes.

A random brother will appear and he is invincible. The spectrum must be attuned as four symbols in each area of the park will appear. They must be aligned to the right brother.

A red sphere to match the red brother, a green pyramid to match the green brother, a blue cube to match the blue brother, and a yellow star to match the yellow brother

Once a portion of a brothers health is gone they will initiate the chromatic purge and tag team out with another brother but don't worry your damage progress on a brother is saved. The chromatic purge is deadly if you are cursed by a champion explody gnome. The curse can be removed by a statue in Rome. The curse disables abilities.

Once a brother falls they sill become a small colored sphere. Gnome reinforcements will flood the area while a zombie player must banish the defeated gnome back into the gnomiverse.

Repeat until all four are banished.

Health

Normal: 6000 (each individual brother)

Hard: 5500 (each individual brother)

CRAAAAAZY: 5000 (each individual brother). Yes they get weaker.

They're the only multi individual bossfight in the series.

They're also called the four princes and are gnome royalty. Only other figure of royalty is king gnomus himself.

You get a gnomish contraption hat for foot soldier upon victory.

I love this hunt and have earned every hat from it. It's the easiest of the four but it still holds up.

The attunement phase allows even 1 player to progress the game and the differing shapes allow colorblind players to be effective.

The gnomes while limited make for interesting enemies.

I miss boss hunt.

  • If I recall correctly, this was the last of the boss hunts introduced, and the order was; Sasquatch, Spooky Squash, Yeti King, and finally Brothers Gnomus.

    The mechanics here are cool, and it is nice that you have colors and shapes like you point out, so color blind folks won't have an issue identifying things (some board and video games still need to learn this lesson). This is the easiest boss fight by a large margin, but you can still fail it (having 2 deadbeards on your team is not a great idea for example). You can also have issues if a teammate is either intentionally or accidentally, changing the symbols to the wrong ones.


    That curse is awful, but especially if you're a Scientist so you can't heal your team! Make your way to that statue in the Rome section pronto!

    The hat is huge. I use the scrumptious version (the ccrraazzzyyy!!! one) of each of these boss hats on one variant and my Arctic Trooper has it, it makes him almost 2x as tall as he actually is! This one was far and away the easiest to get crazy done, my friend and I played a TON of Boss Hunt to get all the hats unlocked back in the day, sometimes an entire weekend of doing it over and over till we got decent teams that could do it on hard and crazy. This is part of why I generally like the elite bosses on BfN ops as they don't take so long, success or failure. I do really like boss hunts though, and wish they'd at least have it in the town hall as again, lots of people need the hats and acheivements!

    @Iron_Guard8You are right about the order and they were also the most frequent boss hunt besides sasquatch.

    It's crazy how a lot of boss hunt mods with bots make deadbeard one of the best allies to have thanks to his aimbot accuracy but players using him almost always struggle (superbrainz mains are usually good but all-stars were strangely always somewhat competent). I can't imagine how bad a AI bfn deadbeard would be in a gw2 boss hunt since they never charge shots.

    A teammate messing with the symbols is still doable because even if they keep shooting one they will eventually arrive at the right one.

    The curse is arguably the hardest thing in the fight since it allows the purge to instakill you and that's the only major hazard in the entire hunt.

    I wish they would at least do something with the mystery portal as randos rapid whatever gets stale when you do it eight months in a row with only one unique mode in capture the taco (man, I remember when everyone thought this would mean we would get better portals after September). They really need to just add more unique modes in the cycle than they can leave it be.
