@dwooten77 the (potentially) most difficult challenge is the first task of opening of the Boss Chest because there's a ton of competition to do so and only 3 potential chances to get it done- probably less due to the issues I spoke about with how and when the chest spawns. That could lead to even heavier competition for people going for the fewer chest spawns.
The second task of vanquishing a Boss can be done, but only on certain maps with a payload and only when the attacking team isn't stonewalled.
I also love the idea of the mode and it worked decently well in 12v12 Turf takeover with only a couple of tweaks needed to get the Bosses where the developers obviously wanted them.
Comparing the 12v12 BTT to the 8v8 I've played about 8 games this time around before I joined you guys for BA and saw all of 3 Bosses successfully spawn out of what should have been 24 possibilities. Mostly due to the chests in the process of being opened which get despawned because the objective was captured or when no chest spawns at all because the attackers can't even start capturing the objective.
I just can't believe that nobody thought to play test the mode after such extensive changes were done to TT.
I was lucky enough to get the first two weekly challenges done so now I just need to get the five wins and I'll be gone from this mode.

@realitysquared Yes, the whole thing's just "off". I've had lucky breaks & done the first two challenges, but since then I've played 6 games (& been on the losing side each time, even if auto-swapped 🙄) and in all those games only saw ONE boss spawned.
It's frustrating for everyone.

- 6 years ago@ToastedSarnie I just ran a couple of games just to try to advance the “Win 5 Games” part and the first game as Zombies on Loggy Acres we got all the way to the end, spawning every Boss for our side and when we got to the Mallow Mortar only one other Zombie even tried carrying the Bombs. He and I made both of the Bomb drops we managed to get before losing the round because nobody wanted to sacrifice their precious Vanquish Streak to try to win.
The next game we got bottled up in our spawn and I just quit for the night.
I didn't think that just playing through to collect a few wins was going to be this difficult.- 6 years ago
@realitysquared Same problem, same map, same opposition every time. Blow through the payloads and nobody cares at the end. In standard turf it’s still common but not as much as I see in the weekly events. Frustrating for sure.
- 6 years ago@realitysquared & @dwooten77 Yep, same map, same disastrous end-game. Two of us trying to carry the bombs while the rest of my team were over at the end objective staking out the objective & plant spawn.
These events frustrate everyone but all that behaviour isn't about the challenges. And it's most definitely not about trying to win the game.
I've done little PvP in recent months because of this kind of thing & was hoping sorting team-swapping might ease it.
The majority of the matches I have don't feel like they're about the game anymore - they have a nasty feel to them.
Maybe it's happening because it's too easy to dominate using certain characters, or because players are rewarded so highly for vanquishes over everything else, or simply a generational attitude.
I have to finish the prize map for my son as he desperately wants the Snapdragon costume, but I mastered the last of my characters last night, finished the prize map & emptied Reward-O-Tron a while ago.
I've made a few new friends in the forum, but we're different time-zones & none of my GW friends have stayed with BFN.
I sadly now have little incentive to stay with the game. I'd like to continue & see what happens with the changes ahead because I really do think this game has massive potential but I'm really struggling this morning to find the heart. In GW2 I was elated to finish mastering & it felt like just the beginning - here I just feel flat.
If I'm not enjoying PvP there feels little point, as that's the bread & butter of the game. For someone who has loved G & G and TT for years & spent 1000s of hours in PvP, I find it truly heart-breaking.
A million apologies for length & derailment @realitysquared!
