Bounty Hunts Guide - Mount Steep!

Hi everyone,

In this guide, I will be covering the 3 Bounty Hunts that are available for completion in Mount Steep. Bounty Hunts are special and unique activities which require a specific set of rules in order to successfully complete them. They all have a time limit attached to them, which means you will fail the Bounty Hunt challenge if you fail to complete it in time, so practice may be necessary in order to gain an understanding of what you need to do for its completion. If you fail a Bounty Hunt or you succeed it, you have to wait a short cooldown before you are able to attempt it again, however you have unlimited attempts. If you complete a Bounty Hunt subsequent times, your rewards will be reduced. Before you are allowed to attempt Bounty Hunts, you need to get your Bounty Permit in the region, which requires you to simply interact with a character named Air Ron. There are Medals involved for completing these Bounty Hunts as well, so completing them is important to fully completing your region.

Location Of The Bounty Hunts

There is a total of 3 Bounty Hunts located in Mount Steep. There is a Bounty located in Olde Town Road, Steep Mines and Rocky Flats. Each Bounty Hunt requires a specific objective in order for you to successfully complete it. The Bounty Hunts are distinctive and are signified by the abundance of traps and boxes. Interact with it to start the appropriate Bounty Hunt. If you are having trouble finding the location of Bounty Hunts, check your map and you should be able to find the appropriate Bounty Hunts you are looking for, then you can mark those locations on your map and pin it.

Claiming Your Bounty Permit and Rewards

Before you are even able to attempt a Bounty Hunt at all, you must get the Bounty Permit from Air Ron in Mount Steep. If you do not have the Bounty Permit, you are disabled from being able to attempt Bounty Hunts. However, once you obtain the Bounty Permit, you may attempt Bounty Hunts at any time, noting that there are small cooldowns of 15 seconds between each successful or failed Bounty Hunt attempts. There is no cost involved to attempt Bounty Hunts, however you must have the Bounty Permit first. Once you have completed a Bounty Hunt successfully, you will get some Coin and Taco Rewards. Completing the same Bounty Hunt again subsequent times will reduce your rewards. When you have successfully completed all Bounty Hunts, if you go and talk with Air Ron again, he will reward you with more Coins and Tacos, so make sure to interact with him again once all Bounty Hunts are completed for extra rewards. Air Ron is located in Olde Town Road, close to where you first appear in Plants Town Center.

Olde Town Bounty - Tiny!

To find out how to do this bounty, go here: https://plantsvszombies.fandom.com/wiki/Tiny

My tips are as follows:

  • Some Scientists will be healing the Gargantuar (yes, Tiny is a Gargantuar). While they are doing this, Tiny will be invincible. For this reason, you must take out the Scientists first.
  • Characters that deal lots of damage will be useful here, as you can quickly vanquish the Scientists and deal a lot of damage to Tiny before more Scientists appear.
  • Abilities and attacks that affect clusters of enemies will be useful as you can damage multiple Scientists as once.
  • Pea Gatling and Sunbeam is super effective against Tiny.
  • Cactus is great at taking out the Scientists one by one, and then dealing lots of damage to the Gargantuar.
  • Chomper and Snapdragon is also useful as you need to get close to do anything major but deal significant damage in return.
  • Use cover (and try to provide fire while under cover) if your health is low.

Steep Mines Bounty - Ninjimp Knock-Offs!

To find out how to do this bounty, go here: https://www.yekbot.com/pvz-battle-for-neighborville-ninjimp/ (I couldn't find a page on the Wiki)!

My tips are as follows:

  • Think carefully about which character you use and which upgrades you have equipped or do equip.
  • Do not use attacks or abilities that deal splash damage, aimbot, or have an area of effect, as you may hit his clones.
  • High damage is nice for defeating the actual Ninjimp quickly, however be cautious as you will lose if you hit any of his clones once or more.
  • Rapid fire damage may also work out because if you accidentally hit a clone, you will not instantly lose. However, you may hit the clones more often.
  • Don't feel afraid to seek a bit of cover if your health is running out and you're being surrounded by all sides from the Ninjimp and his clones. The important thing is to focus on attacking the Ninjimp, you've got time!
  • Cactus could be useful for this, the clones move around a lot but you have time to land shots on them. Just be careful about using your Drone's Big Bulb Barrage as it deals splash damage.
  • Stay close to Ninjimp if you have a hard time hitting him. If his clones closely cluster Ninjimp, don't attack until they split up a bit.

Rocky Flats Bounty - Bomby Dearest!

To find out how to do this bounty, go here: https://plantsvszombies.fandom.com/wiki/Bomby_Dearest

My tips are as follows:

  • You cannot let Bomby Dearest explode at any point, so always stay away from him. He moves slowly though.
  • Before you defeat all the other enemies, damaging Bomby Dearest is good as you can weaken him, then after you have vanquished all of your enemies, you can finish him off!
  • Take out the enemies with less health first so they are not a nuisance.
  • While damaging Bomby Dearest, move backwards so he doesn't get close to you.
  • If your health is low, try and get to some cover, away from Bomby Dearest, if any enemies follow you, quickly take them out and then heal up.
  • Abilities that deal high damage are useful for this Bounty as you should be able to vanquish the Foot Soldiers that appear instantly (or quickly), and the other non-Bomby Dearest enemies.

Before you begin completing your Bounties, don't forget to claim your Permit from Air Ron first by talking to him, which you can do as soon as you appear in Mount Steep. Once you have fully completed them, talk to Air Ron again for your rewards. If you fail a Bounty, you will have to wait a short cooldown before reattempting, but you can do at them at your leisure limitlessly at no cost.

Hopefully this guide was helpful!

@malfinman  Unfortunately, I don’t play on PS4 😢 -  I play on Xbox, but if Crossplay gets added, I will friend you. If you want more friends on PS4, you could make a post “looking for friends” and enter in your PS4 name and region, if you wanted.

Thanks again - I quite enjoy making the guides and really like your positive feedback! 🙂

@TheSprinter85 oh I was just traying to make a signature with the looking for friends 🙂 I guess I rather bump my older thread (already made the post +month ago) https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/PS4-EUROPE-LOOKING-FOR-FRIENDS/m-p/9141107#M20315
It's just that only 2 ppl contacted me and last month the situation became only worse, the remaining of my friends left bfn and if they play
they grind new prize map for 3 days then stops playing for the rest of the month. And I play arena a lot and its not enjoyable at all to play with all the randoms, quitters and ai all the time.
  • @TheSprinter85For me best strategy for ninjimp is to be citron and just go to him really close (you need to just hug him) and shoot. When you have low health deploy shield
