I've been asking them to make a GW3 or something like it for some time now, and glad to see you post this. We all know that BfN didn't live up to their expectations, but we also largely know why. It did bring some cool ideas (like free roam regions), but mostly failed to live up to the legacy of GW and GW2.
PvZ is a beloved IP and needs to be in a better place than it is right now, and the shooters should be a part of that. I still login to GW2 pretty much everyday and still get quests done (I don't play multiplayer that much right now as the hacking is apparently as bad as it's ever been on PC), but I'd spend a lot more time (and yes, likely money too), if we had a new shooter to play.
A lot of ideas would work, but bringing back beloved maps from the original GW, the variants of the GW games, something akin to the backyard battleground, giving the game better netcode, and giving it the support GW2 had in its heyday (progress-o-meter, better town halls, and so on), would be a hit for sure. When Zack Scott started making GW2 videos on his channel recently again, they got tons of views despite their being no new content. People are hungry for more PvZ shooter goodness! Let's go!
