Half of you are totally ignorant on what I mean. I meant his shotgun, the Scatter cannon, not his Extend-o-cannon. Don't try to compare his Extend-o-cannon to Electro Pea and Petrified Cactus because Captain Cannon can only use when in Iron sights. Are you going to tell me people zoom in when using the Chemist? Exactly, I am saying his shotgun should buffed because 80 damage per magazine and a slow fire rate like that is just abysmal. I don't recall Popcap giving him a shotgun for no reason, he is a versatile shotgun/sniper class. Look at Captain Sharkbite, he is focused on sniping but still has a reliable shotgun. Also the Cannon's detonation has a slight delay so I can't just immediately explode if its infront of me. Enough of these "learn to aim" comments, actually read my post before criticizing.
- 10 years agoWell you must be totally dense in playing Captain Cannon to begin with. He isn't a shotgun class. Period. You shouldn't expect to play him as one. The shotgun is a last ditch resort, so why should it be powerful?
No, no, no and no! Completely disagree on everything you said.

I was a little disappointed that they did nothing with Cannon's shotgun variant. It's always been so laughably bad, just like Flameface's shotty. (twice the ammo for ONE extra point of damage unbuffed!) The clip size and ammo consumption certainly don't help either class.
Sure, Cpt. Cannon's scoped attacks are fine and deadly - and they almost make up for his crappy alt fire because of the detonation radius. (and certainly powerful in a skilled player's hands) But in the end, it's still a MASSIVE Achilles heel to a class that's supposed to be great at mid/close ranges. And having to ALWAYS rely on scoping to deal damage in close range does indeed make him feel clunky. In fact, you might make him considerably less clunky if the shotgun was removed entirely.
They smoothed out the timing and ease of use for his cannon in the latest patch, but why keep the crappy 20 dmg shotgun as is?

My question is linger, superiority complex much? Why is his shotgun so weak compared to all the other captains? If he is both a shotgun/sniper class, are you going to tell me next that Super Brainz shouldn't have a beam because he is a melee class, or that Chomper shouldn't have chomp cannon since he is a melee class? I don't think I've read such a banal post on these forums since now. I'm not telling it to be Chemist powered, their is a reason the cactus does more damage per shot than Deadbeard, because the Cactus doesn't have a shotgun, that is specifically why they didn't make Deadbeard's sniper shots as powerful. He has a shotgun for close range and a sniper for long range, they call him versatile in his bio for a bloody reason. What kind of person uses iron sights in point blank range? I am sorry, but at least most normal people don't. I'm not asking him to be Chemist 2.0, I'm asking him to actually be able to kill things with his Scattercannon. So instead of saying 'git gud' to make underpowered variants good, why don't you actually try using the scatter cannon yourself and actually try to use it as a last ditch even. Exactly. I am not talking some powerful elite sniper character like Camo Cactus who can't do anything at close range, I am talking about Deadbeard, who's sniper variant, Captain Sharkbite, even still has a better shotgun than him.
- 10 years agoI already mastered Captain Cannon. He took me very little time to master. Errr already mentioned that... I'll screenshot it later. I had no issues with the shotgun. I knew to keep my distance and if they came close to me, they'd either already be whittled down by my sniper shots so I can pick em' off quickly or they'd see a barrel running at them to take them out.
His long range attacks are powerful enough, so it makes it fair to make his close range weaker. Still want to argue it? Fine. Reduce all shotgun damage for all variants and learn to play a sniper class. Cactus says hello!
