We have a group of 4 that have enjoyed playing pvz2 together and would like to move to bfn. Currently we can not combine groups because both groups are split screen. Is this going to be addressed in am update?

@TheSprinter85 Thanks! The feedback I have is just what the thread is about, really. I would hope that multiplayer would be ironed out to allow for a split screen party to host. It's honestly the weirdest multiplayer thing I've ever seen in a game before.@ToastedSarnie Yeah I've seen some mention of people being worried that this is the last game we'll get. As someone who's new to the GW series, I really hope not. We are very much enjoying our time with the game.

As to the future, it does look bleak and no idea what's going on right now beyond being able to play all 3 games, but part of why I'm still around and posting is that I too want a new PvZ shooter so want to keep up at least some activity around the place!Hope you got this split screen issue ironed out!

@Iron_Guard8 Luckily, we have a PS5 and still have the PS4 hooked up, so we lugged out a second TV, and hooked up the PS4 to that so we can play online with our other friends. Truly not the best solution, but hey it works.And honestly, when you play split screen the interface gets so small that the font becomes basically impossible to read. So each of us having our own screen is nice. But having 2 TVs in the living room is not a long-term solution lol.@ToastedSarnie Yeah I watched a lot of videos before getting BFN to see what the differences were and it seemed like the hardcore fans were way more into GW2, but BFN seemed like a good enough first game and we are loving it. It's incredibly accessible and an overall really polished game. I'm surprised it didn't do better.But at the same time I'm not surprised because I never saw any marketing for it.. ever. I follow dozens of gaming sites online, I play PS4/5 daily, and I did not know this game even existed. Seems like EA sort of just put it out to die.

@GentlemanYeti Yes, BFN didn't have the best of starts, sadly. With a bit more time beforehand & more fanfare at launch, it could've been a different story.There's a lot I like about the game but I think my frustrations with it hit their peak around the time Covid started complicating life & much as I love the franchise, I opted for more stress-free gaming to try & hold onto my sanity 🤣I think @Iron_Guard8 would confirm that later in the year the devs put through a huge amount of balance adjustments which meant the game is in a much better place than when I last played, so I hope you & everyone else carries on enjoying it - and fingers crossed the franchise continues 🤞Have fun!

@ljackf I'm a common split-screener, I play often with my brother on split-screen. I've heard that you can do this feature, you may need to check your settings on both of your consoles. The other thing is that this game currently has no cross-play so if you are playing on different consoles (Xbox One and PS4) you can't do this. You may want to check your settings on your consoles anyway, and each person's account settings, in case there is a restriction preventing you from all playing together. I hope that helps your concern. If this is not a feature you can currently perform, then I hope that the developers implement it in the future for you! 🤞🙂

Both groups are on Xbox. When we try to combine the groups by joining one or the other we are told that we cannot because they are in split screen and can not host. It Appears intentional since you can not join a player already in the group via split screen.

@GentlemanYeti I don't actually think that it is possible to host a group in split-screen. I also believe you cannot join others in BFN while in split screen, unless you join only one other player. It seems very weird to me, but I believe that is the case. Hopefully this does change at some point.

@GentlemanYeti No, that this was a separate issue became apparent later on.
Having split-screen for the PvE regions was a big improvement on GW2 though, where you could only complete Backyard missions solo.
Realistically, unfortunately this is unlikely to change as dev support for BFN was dropped last year & even were it to resume, I think other issues would be more of a priority.

Dang. Thanks for the responses, guys. My wife and I are always looking for games to play online with another couple we game with. So when this went on sale this week on PSN it seemed like a perfect choice so we grabbed it only to be met with this issue.
Incredibly disappointing.

@GentlemanYeti I do find this issue really annoying as well, once in split-screen, I tried to join with another split-screener, and the game would not let us. They also tried to join us and they reported that it did not work.

@ToastedSarnie Thanks, I am doing quite well, actually! 🙂 I still enjoy making my guides but probably do not plan on making that many more!
