Cannot Launch Split Screen

When I try to bring in my son to play split screen in Battle for Neighborville we get the following error: "you or a member of your group does not have the correct permissions to access online features." The main account that we are using does have an active PS+ subscription.

We never had an issue with PvZ: GW2. Anyone know what the issue might be? My son is so bummed we can't get this to work. Please help!

Hi there @Chakan0107,

When you access the world map, you can select 3 game types (Online Cooperation/ Offline without AI and Offline with AI). If you want to play with a friend, son, etc, locally, and with only one PS plus or Xbox Live account, you need to select one of the offline options, your son will need to sign in with a PSN or Xbox Live for players on Xbox platform - this will not allow you to play online multiplayer.

NOTE: If you and a friend / family member want the split-screen online multiplayer, both will need an active PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Hey @Chakan0107

Does your Son have a child account? If so, this is why you could be getting the Online Features issue.

However, you should be able to still do PvE Activities for Split Screen.

@iluminatetheskyThanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the issue. He does have a child account but I checked the permissions and that doesn't seem to be the problem - at least not that I am seeing.

Are you sharing the game with his Account? I've heard there are some problems with Split Screen if "game-sharing" is involved.

But, I can check on this, and see if there's more information I can find out.

@iluminatethesky No game sharing going on here. I've been looking all over for the solution to this and I can't find anything. It's MADDENING since my son asked for this game for Christmas because he wanted to play split screen with me and now we can't get it to work. It was a few easy button pushes in GW2 to get it to work - not sure why things have changed on this game.

How was this resolved. I have had the same issue. I did change the mode on the globe icon which seems to work, however how do you then play stuff like team vanquish? Alls the split screen seems to do is allow to walk around without choosing any modes
