Can't activate gnome button in mount steep

Summarize your bug In Mount steep, near the middle of the map at the spinning drill where to get a gnome you are supposed to shoot a button behind a cheese water-fall and do a puzzle, but when i shoot the button nothing happens. Every other button like this works, and I have tried it with every character. I even tried to shoot it with mouseflies, and it shows a damage number but still doesn't activate the button.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go to the area detailed and try to activate the button
