Can't play a game I paid $43.00 for

Can't play a game I paid $43.00 for! Who makes a game that can't play solo mission without being connected to Xbox live. My son saved his money to buy this stupid game that he can't play. Not everyone can afford Internet/Xbox live memberships. When a game has solo mission and split screen multiplayer I think it is expected to be played offline. Greedy greedy makes a hungry puppy...this is the last ea product I will ever buy if they don't fix this. Stealing from children and making them cry should never be considered acceptable!

  • Everywhere that this game is purchaseable it states that Xbox Live gold is required, as it is an online only game. There is no single player nor offline aspect to it.

On Xbox One, without an Xbox Live gold account, you are able to access Splitscreen, but an active internet connection is still required as it must pull your progression and inventory from the server.

I learned that lesson. I never would've imagined that someone would be ignorant enough to create a game in such a manner. It takes up a ton of space on the hard drive and still isn't playable...stupid. I'm surprised they didn't add plastic figures you have to buy like skylanders. I mean why not dig a little deeper into the pockets of the unsuspecting victims. Guess I should've known better.

I would love to add how astonishingly repulsive it is to go to a manufacturers website to complain to them about how terrible they are, only to find a forum of pissed off people. Makes me feel better that I'm not alone, but makes me more disgruntled that they seem to know how screwed up it is and avoid reading the complaints themselves. Instead they leave us idiots that bought their product to bicker amoungst ourselves. Absolutely delightful!!! 👎

    Excuse me?

I have the game box in my hands...clearly states meaning the tiny black box in the bottom corner that measures 1/2inch by 5/8 of an inch or the tiny print on the back that you can't read in the retail store because the games are locked up and when they remove them from the lock box they carry them to a register where you must pay for them immediately? I'm confused about what is clear and what is decieteful? Can you please clarify? And could you please also state why the manufacturer would require you to be connected to a server to play a game that is rightfully purchased and fully installed on a personal console in ones home? If the game isn't loading from the server then why is the server required?
  • I actually never said it was clearly printed, only that it was somewhere on there. It's becoming obvious it they should find a better way to get their requirements across, but I guess it's more along the lines of how all companies are boxing their games. I haven't gotten a store bought game in a while, but retailers should really be asking customers if they meet the requirements, but I guess most just assume they know what customers getting into.

A server connection is required as this is an online-only game, there is no offline or singleplayer play (unless it's a private garden ops match, but you're still required to connect to the server). The game is pulling character levels, character unlocks, all your progression and inventory from the server, as well as linking you to other players for matchmaking.
